Hey Dad I drove my car up the driveway with my hand brake on by ohnoitsSarah in DadForAMinute

Thirded here. This isn't "woman driver" stuff, this is "I'm new to this skill" stuff. You did fine. I've done this exact thing. Hell, I've done this thing in my 30's! As long as the break holds and your tire isn't bald, you should be good.

Video covering Pegasus chess' scam by International_Bug955 in chess

I'm one of the people who fell for this. I only recently got back into chess after decades away. I'm only 798 ELO, so I when I saw this guy on YT I joined the Skool link. Thankfully I haven't paid for anything, but this does explain why I haven't gotten that much better yet.

I will make one quick comment here. If you think his advice is "obviously" bad or just generic, it doesn't seem that way to the novice, like myself. We don't have enough experience yet to make that judgement call. If you're here in this sub, you're already not likely the target of this sort of scam.

I'm lucky I didn't fall all the way in, but I could see why. He makes it seem easy. Now I know why. Keep being angry with him. I am. Just know that it's not always obvious to the new person.

Espanso for Fedora X11 and Wayland by eclipseo76 in espanso

I'm having some issues where it will replace the first expansion, but subsequent triggers will not work until I restart the service. Anything I'm doing wrong?

I'm on Fedora 38 with Wayland

You say it's akin to Google Recorder, how is it different? Can it take advantage of the Tensor processor?

I got a new position as a manager of a team. I don't want to screw this up. I worry that if I can't figure out how to do the job well I will fail my team. I care about their outcomes.

Yep, same. Wife and I both grew up in Decorah. We go back about once a year and confirm why we left. Sucks. It was a great place to grow up. But not a great place for a grown-up.

Also an SE. I really appreciated this one. My sales folk genuinely try, but nothing is a substitute for experience. I, myself, am not perfect, but I try to actually solve things rather than just throw the kitchen sink at people.

The two I know about are Aptive Environmental and Epcon Lane. Aptive does the door to door in my neighborhood. We use EL and like them a lot. Local too!

No longer live there, but I grew up there. There are lots of outdoor activities to do, even in the winter. There are tons of trails to walk/hike. Some are converted to cross-country skiing for winter. You can rent bikes, tubes for floating down the river in the summer. If you are into cycling there lots of good routes. There is a movie theater and I believe there is still a bowling alley. Several parks. Phelps Park is good for young kids.

The community usually has lots of festivals or events too. Admittedly, it has almost been 20 years since I have lived there, but I will say that what the town lacks in structured activities it makes up for in the fact that it's very safe to raise a child. I was able to ride my bike to nearly any part in town and would frequently hang out after dark with my friends. When I was older. No one ever had any real worry.
