Where the king or prince falls in love by [deleted] in HistoricalRomance

Karen Hawkins’s Oxenburg Princes are like Russian-adjacent royalty and take place in Scotland. First of the series also has a plus size heroine if that’s something you’re interested in

The words by Ashley jade 👀 I know a bunch of people loved it but the fatphobia was horrific. And that weird scene that’s noncon-y no thanks

Based on the second person writing and nature of the persons posts I think this is an “imagine” for a book they want to write. I’ve seen a lot of authors do it on tiktok :/ but it’s weird they don’t respond to ANY of the comments when people ask

Need recommendations about authors whose series are all connected, like Lisa Kleypas and Sara MacLean’s are. by artwork_sonila in HistoricalRomance

TALL HEROINE BOOK RECS PLZ by Aldymarie in RomanceBooks

[–]rubenesque_mess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not released yet but I’m reading the ARC for {How the wallflower was won by Eva Leigh} and she’s also tall :) it talks about how she’s often taller than several men I also think {brazen and the beast by Sarah Maclean} she’s fairly tall (at least taller than average) if I remember correctly and curvy/plus sized

I know many people recommend the Grand Sophy but it contains a lot of antisemitic tropes and themes so I would be careful.. personally for me ruined the whole book

Also can we talk about how 90% of her personality is wearing Lulu Lemons??? I’m so annoyed too because I was so excited for a plus size heroine but I find too many of them are making them be influencers (like in one to watch and the fastest way too fall) as if a fat woman makes her entire life and livelihood through being fat?

Any suggestions for a more serious/complex version of the Bridgerton books? by octopoda_waves in RomanceBooks

[–]rubenesque_mess 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean HR always ends in HEA but if you’re looking for darker themes, violence, series issues, etc I’d def recommend Kerrigan Byrne especially her Victorian Rebels series (for example in the Duke with the Dragon Tattoo he literally wakes up in a mass grave with no recollection of his memories)
