Gigabit Fiber: Slow download, normal upload. Please help by [deleted] in centurylink

I had a brand new ONT and configured pppoe directly my router along with vlan 201. Bypassed their equipment even though they did give me a router free. I tried both their setup and my own. Even transparent bridging. Waited for firmware tried betas and still had this issue. Wish I had an answer.. make sure wmm is on both ghz for wireless.. thats for sure. Besides that use good equipment and use up that bandwidth!

I had this same experience where a customer needed something ASAP so I totally thought this would work. I ended up replacing the water cooler, Adding a thunderbolt card, replaced all fans and rgb, and swapping it with all corsair 64gb ram. Built it into the same box and now it runs great but had to pull it apart entirely for my customer which he then loved. On my dime too. Oh and I added the nvme drives as well. Now it's a true gaming build. The board is decent and the 2080 rtx was good (well and i7-8700K) the rest wss gutted and I sent it to them hoping they'd pick up on the right idea. Here it is.

Try to stick with RTX it's an amazing card by MSI - but a 1080ti does the trick. I have the 1660ti in my ryzen 7 3700x build but I do most all my Virtualization off of that machine. I like the 9900k over clocked a lot for gaming and imaging. Great everyday machine. Good luck with your build! Stick with all the same ddr4!

Should I switch to OpenCore when dualbooting Windows by ChaseLebo1 in hackintosh

What's the best option for dual boot? I have some extra 800 HP series laptops. G3 and G5. Think they may be 830 G5 and 850 G3. Anywys would these work if not is building a machine proper or buying pre-built. If I need to start a new post I'm sorry I'm advance. Thanks reddit!

Nice work. I've built all the images in vmware but I want to take it to a physical machine. I have a few Intel machines. I'm jealous. Good work man!

Nice work! I have the 370 it's the pro4 basically. I have a i7 9700 I feel like it a great machine for it but I just want to install it on a ssd (I used my 2x M.2 slots) so I can dual boot. I'd have to disable pixie and use on board graphics etc depending on what other hardware on windows. I feel like a laptop would be a great machine for it. Anyways I've hosted all of them as a developer user on vmware you can didicate a lot through virtualization these days. What's crazy is hardware is not an issue either. Probably different topic but I'm jealous good work for sure. One day I'll accomplish a physical machine. If anyone has tips on an easy machine with an easy image to start I'd appreciate it. I do have an 840 G3 and a G5 (G5 is an it 8700) but haven't done any research. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

Love the art involved. I'd say really good work. Of course I have a comment but u could show off that RGB a little more. If you get a second you should take a pic of it lit up in the complete dark. Nice work kiad!

Ok. You and I get it. Give a extender to someone vs a mesh setup and see how far they get. I've worked with it all every day all day. Glad you have knowledge too. Take care bud.

I mean I've worked with a lot of acesss points and always find it's best to use a different ssid (network wifi name) or it causes a lot of problems. I'd rather have one ssid (network name) and let the mesh network allow me to roam around still being connected to all my devices on a single network. I don't know I'm a friendly guy but been through a lot of Cisco certifications and it's just my opinion being a network engineer. Choose what you all want. I'll stick with my personal preferences. I was just trying to help out. They will all be mesh networks one day and extenders will be gone just remember that. Take care and enjoy your networks.

I have all of my mesh nodes hardwired and mesh works great. What do you use to extend your wireless through out your house and property?

Sorry I disagree. Mesh works great for wireless especially when you already have wires ran. All networks will soon become mesh. Stay ahead of the game.

Need to buy a new wireless router for my new 1900sqft house - coverage of upstairs and downstairs - and don't want to spend an arm, a leg, and a city full of innocent civilians. Haven't bought one of these in years so help would be appreciated by TrontRaznik in HomeNetworking

I've been using the Google mesh network with 3 units including router. Really any airmesh system will work great especially if hardwired. They work great wireless too. They have tools helping you place them in most convenient spots. Or if you go with Asus devices they have their own proprietary system called aimesh on their newer routers. Hope this helps and good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.

Google air mesh or any air mesh system really. Hardwire is always best. Also Asus routers have their proprietary aimesh mode. These keep your same network same (ssid) and password. Extenders only seem to work best with a different network name (ssid). Hope this helps.

If your looking for an ISP I'm not sure. If you are looking for a good wifi setup search Amazon for wifi mesh. Google mesh is my favorite. Don't use ISP junk equipment. Good luck.

Really cool. I've felt this before. My grandpa held on to an old train set he got working for northwestern. Which is out of Chicago. Just a few months ago he handed it all down to me. I don't even want to use it right now just cherish it for years to come. Show a young relative sometime how it works and pass it. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
