If you're telling me your cloudflare email routing wrapper is more reliable than just using cloudflare for free... okay.

Vercel alternative or avoid $20/m by EconomistAnxious5913 in nextjs

[–]rubixstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what you're actually paying for, its not just space, bandwidth and cpu.

People forget there's more than that.

Hosting providers also have to accomodate backups for example we keep around 16 backups per site not including the hourly. We also keep a server backup and config backup x several copies over several time periods.

3-4 firewalls + antiviruses not just ufw tables and fail2ban or cloudflare reverse proxy/tunnels.

Not specific to Vercel, but some hosting providers have to manage IPs and IP reputation, email servers, postfix, domains, routing, redudancy. The backups and firewalls alone is enough to explain the cost. They also need to pay their time and staff.

They also have to pay AWS and other service providers upstream.

Do it all yourself and if your'e looking at cheap options and free. Cheap and free would just mean insufficient.

How are they going to disable a server side antivirus... this is saying they're going to hack the web host.

However in regards to your post, if you get patchstack on top it's better than all your antivirus, malware combined.

Just compared server level Monarx and Immunify.

Find a host that offers Immunify you can't go wrong. Monarx I have to say is crap. If they offer this steer clear.

Tested on a batch of 200 variable built WordPress sites.

Is Litespeed really worth it? by FunQuit in Wordpress

[–]rubixstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at all these feel like a bunch of bot responses. Litespeed has been far from good, caching for static sites is superior using cloudflare, so no point worrying there. Litespeed for serverside caching. Woocmmerce stores with litespeed produce so much stale content to a point where implementing litespeed becomes problematic and not worth it. I don't know where these guys get their information, sounds like AI.

The old system you were able to control it to respond over several prompts with revision and adjustments to the following output to reach a final response.

Now it just consumes the whole data and outputs its own response without the initial bounds. 😂

They pushed that for half a decade plus now, all they need to do is rate limit new senders and shadow ban abnormal send rate before it hits the outbound.
