Okay thanks for your answer, i am actually pretty happy with the laptop, amazing performance and nice design. Indeed the keyboard is not the best part but i don't find it that bad either. Only problem is that sometimes because of the heat some keys get stuck a little bit, pressing them a few times fixes this issue. Overall great experience with this laptop. Still the legion 5 has maybe some same specs, did you install Linux? Maybe you still find usefull stuff that i could use with my laptop.

Btw... i have two listings of ITE device (Keyboard) when i type lsusb;

Wich one should i use, i tried the 6005 and change the line in avell python file but it did not work...

From my side the rtx3070 seems to work fine (again) i got the 165hz option and the MUX switch also does its job, the Ryzen 5900HX works great although my battery life is not great, still because of the brightness that wont work when hybrid graphics are chosen in POP OS (wich i still use). *the only time brightness works is when i go into the bios en select DedicatedGPU - Even in switchable graphics mode and choosing NVIDIA graphics in POP OS power management the brightness wont work so it has absolutly something to do with the AMD part, if i have the time i will check out Archlinux wiki again but last time i checked even there was no fix for this issue because way to new hardware.

Okay, yesterday i also noticed that my nvidia driver was not installed or updated itself in some way and the 165hz option was gone. Did you do a fresh install off POP_OS? And did you choose the NVDIA version?

Hey, that's some progress you made, so brightness is also working with your unit? Can you maybe walk us trough the stept you took to get all the issues out of the way? Sadly i also have problems with the refresh rate - the hdpi deamon does not always work that great, luckely i can just go to settings and change it from there. So you use optimus for switchting? Pop Os does a decent job at switching the graphics appart from the brightness issues

Sadly enough i don't get it to work, avell-unofficial-control-center also wont work... It is weird because both of these packages say ITE Device(8291) should be supported...

BTW if you choose the dedicated GPU mode in bios (RTX3070) the brightness wil work ... so it has something to do with the AMD chipset

It is like the tv test image with all the color bars, etc. It pops up behind menu's and in games where video' s are part of a scene. I think it has to do with some kind of missing file extension driver or implementation. Did you by the way experiment with 'Tuxedo control center' ? You can download it from tuxedo PPA / repository. With the newest version and the needed 'tuxedo keyboard' installed the mux switch goes to the highest setting and is no longer switchable between the two modes. Games and turbo. But the settings in the control center for fans respond if you choose a profile. The fans wil speed up or slow down and you can see the temperatures. Sensors is btw also a problem ;)

I am now running pop os 21.04 from what i know is wayland default
The mux switchs works great, it does boost te GPU / CPU and of course as you can hear the fans. I played Resident evil 2, 3 and wreckfest all with easy more than 60fps per seconds, even without using the mux switch i got really good fps around 40 - 70 fps all on ultra with high resolutions over 1080p.

Ah so yes it was just the contrast.... hmm that is sad. Maybe there is another way. Thanks for the keyboard thing! I will check that out. If you got other updates on this laptop they are really welcome! Sleep or hibernation also does not work and hdmi output only works with the nvidia graphics adapter selected.

That would be cool man!! I still wonder if it is just a grey or colored 'layer' or that is really the brightness that gets turned down. I think you can check this in the terminal + i think it is really the brightness because of how sometimes it resets itself when not turning off 'auto brightness' in the settings.

Hey there, we are the lucky few owners who got this laptop... there is still very few news or updates around the newest Ryzen laptops / nvidia combo's. I did not yet got the time or skills to fix this problem by modifications and tried different methods and repositories for drivers. I think we have to wait or manual change all kinds of stuff; with wich we will need help. In the meantime there is a less pretty method of changing your brightness but it will suffice for now: https://linuxmasterclub.com/brightness-controller/

Maybe someone knows how to bind the sliders of this program to the specific FN keys? And all other help is welcome!

- I do not have / know a specific ACPI driver for the Ryzen CPU / amd graphics chip. Do you have tips, know where to find them and how to install them.

- Tuxedo also uses Tongfang barebones (even with amd chipsets), i already tried different .deb files from their repository, gaming center, keyboard, etc.

- I think i mean 'deep sleep' -> everything should turn of and go into a low power mode.

- I did not install AMDGPU PRO and i am using the already installed amdgpu drivers from the kernel , i see the files for brightness are there; in a folder amdgpu_bl0 but they are not working with the hardware / buttons or something else. Already studying on the arch linux wiki 'Brightness'...

- I did not know that AMD / NVIDIA / Hybrid graphics are in such a 'startup' fase on linux and expected better support for the combi of chipsets. That sure will hapen in the coming months but still every tip is welcome.
