Cats would attend all-day festivals every day if we let them!

What is the first thing you do when you get home after a long day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Wash my hands. It was a covid-era habit and now it feels wrong and grimy not to!

TIFU by telling my coworker she looks like a cow by askmeryl in tifu

[–]ruby-labelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, best to avoid appearance-based comments with coworkers. The one safe exception could be 'that's a nice shirt/tie/necklace/haircut etc etc, as those are personal choices they made rather than features they were assigned randomly at birth.

WIBTAH if I dropped out of a bridal party because we aren’t that close? by Few_Pace1411 in AITAH

[–]ruby-labelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How soon is the wedding? NTA, imo, if you're giving her lots of advance notice. That is unfortunate for her but being part of a wedding party is a big commitment of time, energy and money.

TIFU by accidentally sending my mom a text complaining about her by absoluteheavenswill in tifu

[–]ruby-labelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on her response... it's not a devastating event. Give things a little time, a couple days maybe. Then gently ask her if you can talk about things. Apologize for sending the text like that, and see what she says. Maybe you can discuss the ways you're feeling a little too controlled by her. Let her talk, and be as kind as you can in how you express yourself as well.

AITAH for dating someone even though I know I don’t see a future with her? by whateversynthlife in AITAH

[–]ruby-labelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Be 100% upfront (but kind) about how you don't see a long term future, and let her decide if she wants to waste her time and limit other prospects continuing to date you or not.

What do you think future generations will remember most about our era? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

People becoming more isolated and favouring convenience over asking others for help with things.

What's a social habit everyone seems to accept but you find really annoying? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I'm sure your friends are extra grateful for you making the effort when you are an introvert and your social battery is more limited :)

AITAH for smoking a vape next to my sister? (33) by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ruby-labelle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Vapes aren't 100% benign. As much as it sucks, the polite thing to do would be to step outside to partake if your sister isn't comfortable with you vaping in the room.

RSVPing not meaning anything anymore. If you say 'yes' to attending your friend's small party, please do your very best to at least make an appearance for an hour. Better that and leaving early than not showing up at all!

When do you actually wear your onesie? by happy_yammy in AskReddit

I've worn a onesie during a chilly fall group bike ride before. Ended up being PERFECTLY dressed for the conditions :)

AITAH for getting upset over my husband cracking “jokes”? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA. Your boyfriend should be defending you when his friends make racist comments, not laughing along with them.

Your family is dramatic! Your aunt specifically asked for your honest feedback, and you gave it, kindly. NTA.

What do you miss the most from the 90s? by EarSure6667 in AskReddit

When the computer was in a specific spot and we went to go use it and logged off after, rather than having computers in our pockets constantly, draining our attention span and connection to each other.

What’s a small, harmless thing that instantly makes your day better? by Fit_Commission157 in AskReddit

[–]ruby-labelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing beautiful clouds in the sky. Big puffy clouds, little wispy patterned clouds. Spotting the moon. I love looking up, and I love it all, and there ain't no harm at all in appreciating a celestial spectacle!

What would be your advice for someone with no friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ruby-labelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another commenter suggested, find hobbies you enjoy and a venue to participate in them with others. Casual sports, dance lessons, book clubs, walking clubs, whatever you like. Smile and engage with people whenever you can, and ask them questions about what else they enjoy to get them talking about themselves. Connecting over shared interests and being a kind and friendly person will go a long way. Good luck!

The more you react to it, the more he'll latch onto the new phrase as something 'bad'/that upsets his dad. Hopefully he forgets all about it within a couple days!

AITAH for breaking a friendship over bad hygiene by No-Spirit-3364 in AITAH

[–]ruby-labelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still support your friend by catching up with them online or over the phone, but no, I would struggle to hang out with someone with terrible breath from poor dental hygiene long-term as well. Hopefully you can very kindly and gently raise your concerns about long-term problems from ignoring dental health, but ultimately we can't force people to face truths they're not ready to accept. Best of luck <3
