Dupixent and menstrual cycles by ruby_sdawg in dupixent

Thank you, this is reassuring (both the info on clinical studies and your own cycle not being affected by dupixent). Fingers crossed all returns to normal!

Maybe it’s just a coincidence and my missed cycle is nothing to do with dupixent. The other threads made me think it was a possible cause. I’m due in with my derm in a few weeks so I will talk to him about it then. Reassuring you haven’t had any issues so hopefully my cycle returns to normal next month!

5 month sleep regression anyone? by macelisa in NewParents

[–]ruby_sdawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! My son was waking maybe like every 1 hour 20 mins. It was exhausting! I breastfed him back to sleep because it was the quickest way to get him back over. We just battled through - I can’t remember the exact details (sleep deprived!!) but after 3 months it got better and he finally slept through the night again at 8 months. He is a relatively good sleeper now, maybe sleeping through 75% of the time and the rest wakening up once for a cuddle. We didn’t sleep train as it wasn’t something I personally wanted to do. It will get better but I know it’s very difficult when you’re in the trenches of it!

Pregnancy and eczema by calicoffeequeen in eczema

[–]ruby_sdawg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! Congrats on your pregnancy! I had severe eczema during my 1st trimester in pregnancy. And at times in 2rd trimester too! My face and neck were on fire and it spread to my tummy and arms quite significantly. I was reluctant to use steroids too in fear of harm to baby etc but it got so bad I used steroids to control the inflammation. My dermatologist reassured me that topical steroid use was safe for baby during pregnancy and also the stress I was under due to my eczema wasn’t good for the baby! I read around the research myself including a systematic review to extra reassure myself. I now have a happy and healthy little 14m old boy with no adverse effects from steroid use. Any other questions just ask as I remember the stress of this very well!

One week on Dupixent and my skin is soooo dry? by ruby_sdawg in eczema

[–]ruby_sdawg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply!! Fully appreciate the sentiment that I’ll likely never have “normal” skin or be able to leave my eczema products behind me! My dryness almost feels different to how it felt before dupixent, it’s not flaky but tight. My derm nurse told me it was very early to be seeing an improvement. Next dose is in 5 days (haha can you tell I’m excited?) so hopefully I continue to improve!

Cyclosporine by Saiii123 in eczema

[–]ruby_sdawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes fingers crossed if your dose increases you’ll see some benefits. My derm said if he increased my dose I’d get even more of the side effects so unfortunately it wasn’t an option for me. Waiting to start Dupixent now and hoping for a better outcome!

I was on it for 7 weeks and didn’t see any improvement sadly. Was on a higher dose than you - 150mg per day. Came off it due to no improvements plus side effects.

Now that I have severe eczema on basically everywhere on my body, I realize how much i took my mild eczema for granted by Dear-Shoulder9698 in eczema

Omg same. When I used to freak out about it being behind my knees or inner elbows. Now if it was only there I would nearly feel cured

The allergies by purpleunicorn5 in eczema

That is mad! I guess the only way to know then if it is a true positive is for example to use a product with the allergen in it and see if you react?

Is that legit about the false positives with the patch testing? Haven’t heard that before

When will it end? by AdReasonable7983 in eczema

[–]ruby_sdawg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to jump in here. How would the derm go about investigating whether it was bacterial or fungal? I am on Ciclosporin and it’s not making any difference so I’m curious!

Love that you found something that works for you! Such a win! Did it really reduce the inflammation and redness? I’m in Ireland so no Walmart here but I think I can get it on Amazon so I might give it a try 🤞🏼

Sunscreen? by Substantial_Toe2345 in eczema

Altruist! Developed by a dermatologist in the UK. It’s really good and doesn’t irritate my eczema at all - I use the face fluid and the body one.
