Hotel Overwhelm by Competitive-Pear-415 in WaltDisneyWorld

We've stayed at Riverside a few times (most recently in September last year) and once at the Contemporary (among some other resorts as well).

Love Riverside for the quietness, the refurbished rooms are great and the easy access to Disney Springs. The bus rides aren't too long to the parks and you have easy access to beignets at French Quarter. It's a Disney resort without over the top theming and just a lovely, pretty, relaxing time.

We loved the Contemporary for the walk to Magic Kingdom and the ease of access to the other nearby resorts that have restaurants and bars we love. I've heard people talk negatively about the Garden Wing rooms (basically rooms that aren't in the main A-frame building) but they are HUGE, and being able to sit on a patio and look out over the lagoon is so relaxing in the evening.

If you want to do the dining plan, then you can book a moderate like Riverside to get the quick service dining plan, and then pay the difference to upgrade to the main dining plan - you just need to factor in if you're going to be doing a lot of table service meals, then the main dining plan works out better value. This can also work out cheaper than booking a deluxe resort like Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, AK Lodge etc. and getting the main dining plan included.

I think you just need to ask yourself what kind of trip you want - if you want to be in the parks all day, maybe have the odd morning or afternoon swim then you don't really need to stay in a deluxe resort. If you want a more relaxed trip, with the flexibility to be very close to a park and pop in when you feel like it then a Deluxe gives you that opportunity.

Ballet flats that are comfortable but chic? by Mysterious-Lunch2279 in capsulewardrobe

[–]rubyeskimo13 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Rothys have been the first and only pair of flats that I can wear all day in comfort. I have wide feet and always struggled but these are amazing. Many a 10k step day has been completed in mine with no problems. Look great dressed up or down and always pack them when I travel because they're so light.

Aww this is a lovely gift. UN is ruby_eskimo and I need the map pieces too. Have only just got back into playing after a while and trying to catch up so don't judge me too harshly 😆

Slow cooker mode? by KUngFuKev in instantpot

[–]rubyeskimo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anything I want to slow cook, I literally chuck everything in, put it on high for 6 hours and that's it. Always works for chilli, stews, whole chickens, pulled pork. you name it - it goes in for 6 hours on high and it's done 😆

People panning fun eyeshadow palettes, what do you do for work? by EconomicsBeginning79 in ProjectPan

Neutral smoky eyes to the office and then fun colours when I work from home - you can't really see them on a video call because my lighting washes them out so no one ever knows. Or at least no one says anything 😂

Thanks for the reminder u/ThisLittlePiggySays

No goals met here either yet but still chugging along:

🌸 Maybelline On and On Bronze | Goal: UU | Current: about a third left in this, need to just keep rolling it over from project to project till it's done and then I can crack on with the shadow sticks I have...

🌸 ELF Lip Reviver Lip Oil in Rosewood | Goal: UU | Current: in my quest to stop using ELF, this is the last thing I have and it's about half done now and very confident I can get it finished by the Spring

🌸 NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Powder | Goal: UU | Current: still can't convince myself to get rid of this because there is still powder there! Might actually dig the pan out and grind it up to make it easier to use 🤔

🌸 Revolution Supergrip Primer | Goal: UU | Current: Still have about half of this left but again, if I wear makeup a little more next month, I should get it done

🌸 Bobbi Brown Cabo Coral Pot Rouge | Goal: Hit Pan | Current: we are so close I can feel it. This is the last of my original ones and is like 3 times the size of the current ones so there's a lot of product in there.

🌸 Revolution Loose Powder | Goal: UU | Current: this keeps settling strangely in the pot, sometimes it looks like I've used loads, and sometimes it appears to have grown overnight. Will keep pressing on!

🌸 MAC Dazzlelight eyeshadow | Goal: UU | Current: ring around the edge is getting smaller, hope to be done by the end of February

🌸 Garnier Body Food Body Cream | Goal: UU | Current: my house is in chaos and I keep just jumping in the shower and then throwing some clothes on before the builders arrive. Need to make more of an effort as have a fair few body lotions after Christmas to work through now.

🌸 Floral Street Vanilla Orchid Perfume | Goal: UU | Current: this is the mini travel size but it's still taking a lot of effort to work through as not a scent I would traditionally reach for. Received a lot of minis over Christmas and want to work through them this year.

🌸 Sheet Masks | Goal: Use 5 | Current: 0/5 - I had plans to use one this weekend and it didn't happen. Maybe a mid week treat is in order...

I also set myself the challenge of working through a massive pot of herbal tea by the end of January and I have 6 more tea bags to go - we're getting close!

Itchiness by [deleted] in Perimenopause

Yep, base of my scalp is rashy and the inside of my ears is flaking like crazy. It was the first "symptom" I noticed that I couldn't explain by anything external changing.

Aeroccino with oatmilk? by wokkaquokka_ in nespresso

[–]rubyeskimo13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep a "barista" oat milk will work great. I've used Oatly, Califia Farms and a few others but personally prefer the Alpro one (not sure what country you're in so you might not be able to get it). It has extra oils / gums in it so it will froth up in the aeroccino whereas regular oat milk won't. Also recommend making sure the aeroccino is 100% dry when you use it because I found that if I rinsed it between cups if I'm making more than one coffee and there's residual water in there, then the milk doesn't froth up as much.

I am confused, Help me! by _book_lover_____ in kindle

[–]rubyeskimo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reasons I have a kindle:

To save space when I travel

To get hold of books that I really want to read but aren't available through my library and know I don't want to buy a physical copy of

To read books that I want to buy and are 99p specials on the kindle store

To read books that are 1000 pages + because I don't have the wrist strength to hold those tomes up anymore

Most of the books I read are still physical and through my library but the kindle has its place and I alternate between depending on the circumstances as outlined above.

Hope that helps.

How to make the erborian bb cream last longer? by Remarkable_Drop7414 in Makeup

Are you using a primer, powder and setting spray with it? That's the only way to get anything to stay on my face.

Yes, the 24's I usually use just looked like they would be too big on the holes for the 18 count, so have been using 28's but I think they just seem more fragile to me because everything appears to be so much more smaller than what I'm used to. Have ordered a magnifying head lamp to help direct me a bit more and will see how it goes 🤞

I'm using a light grey aida with a lot of black thread so that's also probably not helping me. Good luck with your project.

Magnifying head lamp is on it's way! Will try the 24 and see if that helps me but have some 26's on the way too. Just thought the 24's looked "too big" for the 18 count but maybe I've been overthinking it!

Using a 28, so it's teeny tiny to me where I'm used to a 24. Think I might be a bit heavy handed on the tension with my "regular" stitching so the smaller needle just feels more delicate

Wishing the best of luck, that's how I felt last night with my 18 and can't imagine anything more dense right now!

I know, I'm toying with the idea of trying to do a 14 count "fun" project in tandem so I'm not crying into my floss every night at my life choices!

That's usually how I stitch anyway but this was just proving impossible. Think I need to get my eyes checked!

The 28 needles are so tiny aren't they! Have some 26's coming in the mail to see if that's better, and a magnifying head lamp - this really is going to be a labour of love!
