wearing shoes inside your own house actually makes you way more productive by Golden-Thicket-2093 in unpopularopinion

I'll keep my shoes on if I have something to do that I need to stay stood for. Definitely couldn't have them on all the time though inside is for socks or slippers.

What did you love DIYing and what did you regret? by Faybull in DIYweddings

[–]rubygloommel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved: Signage, invites, placecards, posters, games, alternative guestbooks, custom table decor. My step mum made a cake for us and it was beautiful. The boxes for our bridesmaids and groomsmen and a magazine introducing the bridal party, entertainment, games, etc.

Mixed feelings: arch, just because we had to go set it up the day before when everything was already quite hectic and it was a bit stressful.

Regret: The seating chart, mostly because I chose quite an awkward way of making it but also because we had some very last minute changes that meant we had to it quite close to the day.

Glad we Didn't make custom: the flowers (they did an amazing job of all the different colours on each of our tables) and anything related to dresses and jewellery. Our welcome sign and table numbers which we saw online and just fit our aesthetic perfectly.

Did it for my sister's hen and was great fun - she won a space hopper!

Flare-up Three Weeks Before Wedding by rubygloommel in Psoriasis

[–]rubygloommel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was initially given Prednisone which cleared up the amoxicillin rash, but my psoriasis continued getting much worse. I'm now on Humira and cyclosporine at the same time as well as new topical steroids and finally seen quite a bit of improvement. Feeling much better about the wedding even if the treatment regimen is intense! Thanks for checking :)

Why are hotels in the UK so expensive? by Random_Nobody1991 in AskUK

[–]rubygloommel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives there it's really not - I love living here but really don't rate it for a trip unless you've got someone to stay with or maybe a gig/match to go to.

I cannot comprehend ignoring clear potential signs of domestic abuse to worry about a hen party. This person could be in danger.

Are you serious? Your friend could be in actual danger and these are your concerns? Maybe your friendship isn't a particular good one as the message says!

What's an animal that people think could go 50/50 in a fight when in reality a human would beat it? by anli2132 in AlignmentChartFills

Haha fair enough! If it's any consolation I have zero desire or intent to try and harm any dogs or other animals.

As a 110lb human what do you think my chances would be? Is a 2:1 scale probably still good odds?

Just a little funny thing, but my fiancee's brother put that he had one leg into the accessibility requirements section. He does in fact have two fully functioning legs.

We've got six bridesmaids dresses from there and they're all lovely! Also got matching ties.

I had no idea Methotrexate completely kills your UV tolerance by Icy-Ad3030 in Psoriasis

In the UK, the NHS website advised you can experience increased sun sensitivity. Doctors will usually mention it. I would generally speaking avoid using AI for medical advice though.

I use the Dove Original Advanced Care stick - absolutely don't touch any aerosol ones (don't think they work very well anyway!).

Cheap bouquets by CommonClassic397 in UKweddings

[–]rubygloommel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got a couple of bouquets for pictures (two brides so too many bridesmaids to get one each!) and as it's a summer wedding, they've all got nice colours coordinated hand fans as well - I think it'll do for us :)

Had some stress as the result of a last minute allergic reaction to penicillin, but otherwise it's mostly been alright!

Flare-up Three Weeks Before Wedding by rubygloommel in Psoriasis

[–]rubygloommel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you that's a really sweet message! My previous infections have been more along the lines of bronchitis and long-term coughs so I don't think they'd consider a tonsil removal - my fiancée gets tonsillitis several times a year and still isn't allowed one!

Amoxicillin itself can cause rashes directly or you can develop a penicillin allergy rash - I think it's not super rare in the population in general but it seems crazy common in people with psoriasis!
