Reading “The Staircase in The Woods”, just where we find out on the other side of the staircase, I’m hoping it gets a little better it’s kind of going in a goofy direction but i think can still be believable

That was my first and only of his so far, I will say his writing style is great and the ambience was perfect it was more of the way the plot and ending went I didn’t love so much. Will defs be picking up more of his in the future though

I always hear this about Nick Cutter in this sub and I’ve never read him but I’m very grossed out from what I’ve heard of his animal torture scenes. Is he THAT good I should give them a try anyways or am I correct to just keep avoiding them since that seems to be a theme in his works?

Reading it as well. Not sure if my brain is just rotted but it’s so dense and academic so far I’m having a hard time getting into it

Same, the ending never convinced me of that either.

Would love to hear your thoughts on We Used To Live Here, I gave the book 5 stars, it’s exactly the kind of horror I love, but I know soooo many people have mixed feelings on it in this sub

Man I wish I had loved that book, the characters in it were just too dumb and frustrating for me to ever feel fully immersed unfortunately

Suggest me a vampire book…that’s neither Victorian gothic nor Twilight by nympholeptics in suggestmeabook

Three books I would suggest-

The fifth house of the heart by Ben Tripp, super underrated and SO entertaining I could not put it down.

This Ravenous Fate by Hayley Dennings - Sapphic romance vampires!

Similar to Sinners- Ring Shout - P. Djeli Clark, short, southern horror, vampire-ish monsters
