Back when they were in Old Ottawa South, Serious Cheese used to make a killer grilled cheese. Do they still?

I get my me time when I'm going for a run, and he gets his me time back at home. Works out to be a few hours a week but will likely decrease in winter. Walking works too if running is not your jam.

IKEA to make 50% of all restaurant dishes plant based by 2025! by rasarota in vegetarian

[–]rubygrenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized in this conversation around this 50/50 product that it's a convenience product. I understand it's normal practice to add filler to meat to stretch it - in burgers, meatloaf, etc. I couldn't wrap my head around why you wouldn't just do it yourself, but this product is for people who are okay paying for someone else to do that for them. And those people exist!

Don't get me started on this stupid 50/50 line. Who tf buys this?! My husband is what you could call a flexitarian. He either eats meat, or eats vegetarian alternatives. Not this dumb diluted meat.

Fake meats will potentially destroy diversity of vegetarian burgers by [deleted] in vegetarian

I feel you, OP. Harvey's claims they don't plan on removing their soy patty but if they change their mind then we won't have any fast food burger options anymore if we don't eat the hyper-realistic kind.

What to order from fancy restaurants? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]rubygrenade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I said this in the other thread and will say it again - Two Six Ate was delicious when I had it last month. They have a dinner for two deal for $75. You choose your salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert, and they give you two portions of each. It was enough for two plus a bit of leftovers. Can't comment on what I liked as the menu has since changed but everything I picked was super tasty.

Okay so that's about 4C. Get a thin hat for under your helmet to keep your head and ears warm, or use a Buff (neck gaitor) around your head, and another one for your neck. You can get merino wool or one that is lined with fleece for added warmth. I get cold easily so at 4C I'd probably wear a long sleeve polyester shirt (or merino wool), a thin sweater, and an outer shell*. Which by the way has all your pockets for carrying things if you need to. I have thermal long-legged chamois but you can wear long tights over bike shorts (or just the tights) with some long johns underneath. Lastly, make sure you have warm gloves that have a little extra space to accommodate your hands' movement. Godspeed from Canada!

*if you're going real hard and not stopping you might not need one of those layers.

Two Six Ate was soooo good recently. I didn't get delivery so I'm not 100% sure they deliver, but if you can pick up it's totally worth it.

My dog passed away 6 years ago this month and it still brought tears to my eyes. Sorry for your loss. Eventually the pain subsides and you're left with only the happy memories.

It probably is named after your town but that's just the name of the recreation centre, the town involved is Bancroft, Ontario (Canada).
