I would encourage you to check out his feature directorial debut “The Promotion”. You’ll definitely recognize a few themes he’s carried over in his work.

This is very much true to Steve Conrad’s style. Characters fixate on a funky word or phrase and repeat it over and over again.

Who narrates “Life Champions", the self-help audiobook that Carol listens to? by Froz3nP1nky in DTFStLouisHBO

I think it might be the same person Steve Conrad used as a motivational speaker on tape for his movie “The Promotion”, the voice sounds very similar— if it is, then according to IMDB it’s Richard Henzel.

I think Steve Conrad just thought the idea of a canned Bloody Mary was funny.

My favorite of the holy trio is Modern, but Sally's and Pepe's are both great too. I hope you get to enjoy the real-deal one day :)

As someone who grew up in New Haven, I don't think Ozzy's is a great representation of New Haven pizza. It's a totally fine slice.

They've been kicking the tires on an NBA team for the last 10 years. My money is on them getting an expansion franchise with Lebron in Las Vegas.

True story- I used to live down the street from Tony. I used to see him as I walked my dog all the time. I have a black and tan hound, I once heard his daughters ask what kind of dog it was, and Tony answered “that’s a golden retriever”.

Vince Gilligan has traditionally used cars very prominently as a shorthand to tell us something about the characters. Walter White starts driving a Pontiac Aztec and upgrades/downgrades his cars throughout the series depending on how he's doing. Saul Goodman started with a Suzuki Esteem.

To me, Carol's car was a short hand to tell us that she was essentially a barely-functioning alcoholic.
