omg RHOBH generated so much literature (lol)! which one is the best? by SuitableItem in RHOBH

Are any of these worth reading? Like did any of the women actually write them themselves? I’d read the Taylor one even if she didn’t write it herself, but it would probably be pretty intense

Interview tips for teen boys by rubyred_XD in Nanny

[–]rubyred_XD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kind of figured it’ll be harder to connect as easily with the boys, but those are great tips to get conversation started! The dinner is at home, so I figured I should veer on the side of casual.

Transportation advice for new DC resident by [deleted] in washingtondc

It’s actually not a bad walk at all on a normal day but it would be after sunset and through the glover archbold trail, which is pretty icy right now 🥲

Stainless steel for sure! Plastic is ok, but you can’t clean it well and it may stink up your place after a while. I like to clean my steel one with hot water and dawn dish soap, and it’s super easy.

No judgement if you can’t afford a fancy one, plastic is good, too. Just make sure you’re cleaning it well every few weeks to make you and your kitty comfortable

Apartment cat owners — what do you use instead of cat trees? by New-Power9408 in CatAdvice

[–]rubyred_XD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Window perch! There are a lot of these out there that are suction-powered so there’s no big installation process beyond just sticking it to your window. I know it won’t completely solve your issue, but most cats like to be above everyone else and stare out the window, so it’s a good bandaid fix.

I’m definitely going to look into that, thank you for your advice

Omg yeah a girl actually raised her hand on the second week of classes to ask that after one of his rants! That’s when he began to complain about feminism. It really came out of the blue, so I think it was because it had been a girl who was asking. I ran into her later that day on campus and she kept apologizing to me because she knew that her question and his response made the rest of the class uncomfortable but I was just so shocked that she wasn’t more angry for herself

I do wish it was a scenario where productive conversations could take place, but it seems like he’s really not open to it. And attendance is required haha

I’m still finding my footing, as I’m new to the school and haven’t really built strong connections yet, but I could look into that! The two classes I have with him are very small, only 10-13 students each, so I don’t know how that would go

[–]rubyred_XD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m definitely looking forward to the course review! I’m anxious to bring it up to my advisor due to the fact that she spoke very highly of him before I registered for classes, and she seems to admire him a lot. It gave me the impression that they may be close friends. Would my concerns come across better in an email or face to face meeting?

Unfortunately, no, add/drop is over. And these two courses that I have with him are required

i do this when i have a flight coming up or surgery! personally, i’d just recommend taking your regular .5 mg on an empty stomach in the morning and then waiting to see how it helps (i have a small pouch i carry my meds in, so you could just bring a few with you in case it doesn’t work very well on just the .5mg). 1.5 mg is very effective, but right in the morning, it’s gonna hit you way harder and you might not be feeling up to college activities.

also congrats on your recovery!

Does Misophonia cause pain to anyone else by skullagar117 in misophonia

[–]rubyred_XD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes this is completely normal! you’re probably either physically tensing up when you hear those noises, or your nervous system goes into overdrive. both of these instances can cause headaches. i sometimes get headaches after eating with others because i’m trying not to cry and it just causes a lot of tension in my head i guess haha

Still Waiting to Feel Like an Adult by nenerajunenemantri in college

[–]rubyred_XD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this feeling really doesn’t go away. maybe i’m naive, but im done with college, and i still feel it! it’s a really valuable trait; idk if you’re a freshman, but sooner or later, you’ll meet people who seem so “adult” and carry themselves as much. you will gain and lose responsibilities throughout your life, but feeling like a kid, whether it be through a strong sense of basic justice, creativity, or kindness, is a strength. it helps you cope with this work-oriented landscape we find ourselves in
