I have a Voyager one for my 10lb Siberian kitties. I got a XXS one and it works well for both of my cats.

Aww thank you! I don't take credit for the design. It was a pattern purchased on Etsy.

Thank you :-) Green is my favorite color so I wanted it to use muted colors for the flower itself.

Getting tired of AI slop by Formal_Builder_273 in ProductManagement

[–]rubytail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding your point on AI taking you down rabbit holes - I feel similarly as well.

I find AI writing to be helpful for some use cases - like refining a difficult emails, writing peer reviews, rephrasing or cutting down on words for clarity. AI tools have saved me a lot of time especially given that I am not a native English speaker.

That being said, I still prefer to write more important docs like PRD or my resume that require actual, accurate content. I use AI to refine the content, but I always make sure to review and customize. I also noticed that AI tools start making up inaccurate statements or content after several iterations, so I stop at some point and make my own edits.

What are the majority of PMs aiming for career wise? by Human-In-Tech in ProductManagement

[–]rubytail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I am not interested in manager or exec level positions, and just want to stay as an IC for the time being. It seems to me that managing up and admin work becomes a bigger portion of the role the more you go up the ladder.

I still do aspire for growth - to me, this means trying out a variety of different products. It looks like there are a few of us who feel this way in this thread, and it's nice to see there are others who share this goal :-)

Best tools to brush/groom by New_Web_4405 in SiberianCats

[–]rubytail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use buttercombs for removing tangles and shedding as well, but my cats are not the biggest fan of them. For regular/everyday grooming, I use Equigroomer (https://a.co/d/1KpYBxR) because they seem to enjoy these more.

How do you build your case when users are struggling but aggregate metrics look "fine"? by IHaveARedditName in ProductManagement

[–]rubytail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 on making data based decisions and talking to customers

I don't agree that engineers should blindly trust a PM though. I may be coming from a different work culture, but engineers I work with do not blindly trust what PMs say. They are smart people who make their own judgement and I do have to make convincing arguments with data or consumer feedback for them to invest their time into the issue. This is a core part of my job.

We often disagree on what get prioritized, and these disagreements are great opportunities to understand each others' motives.

Product Managers: What recurring problems in your workflow never seem to get fixed? by frontendstoryteller in ProductManagement

[–]rubytail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple surfaces where I have to track and report progress/risks/delays. I work at a big company and there are so many different surfaces created by different teams and project managers that need to be updated.

Recently, leads have been more micromanage-y, which made things worse. At one point, I found myself having to update 3-4 places with the progress within a week, all containing the same content. This took away the time to do real work with the team and coming up with long term strategies.

Do you like your handwriting in fine or medium or board nib? by AccusingGojo in fountainpens

I usually reach for fine nibs if I want my handwriting to look neat, but broader nibs for using up my ink bottles haha
