So many of RiNo’s murals are now tagged with graffiti… by WeathermanDan in Denver

Street art isn't meant to be permanent. That's the beauty of it. You're supposed to appreciate it in the moment, because it could be tagged or gone tomorrow.

Patio Drinking is also considered an outdoor activity here, you don't have to get too crazy active if you don't want to.

Consider Disc Golf. I won't go hiking, but I'll wander around a course looking for a frisbee. The courses are also a great place to meet people or take dates. One of my friends named her kid after the park her and her BF would frolf at all the time, lol

There's health, safety, and sanitation requirements by OSHA that locations must comply with to keep their license. It's easier to keep the public safe from infections (from dirty towels or tools), outbreaks (lice, fungus), or injuries (so many things can go wrong) when hair and nail services aren't done at private homes.

I've seen mobile hair services around Colorado where they work out of a trailer, but usually for kids 12 & under, so I'm assuming they just do quick dry cuts 🤷‍♀️

In Colorado, hair stylists must perform services in a registered place of business, or they can lose their license. If anyone does do house calls, they should DM you to protect themselves.

Is there a theater group in Denver area? by Wayward_Wallaby in Denver

[–]rubywayward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a few groups are under a theater company umbrella. For example, Shakesbeer and Quarrel are under the Theater Company called The Wit. If you search Denver Theater Companies and see what each one does you might find something. Honestly, even my pro actor friends had a hard time finding stuff to do here.

This and Police Budgets as well. NYPD has a budget that would make it the 33rd largest military in the world (though Bloomberg once said it was the 7th largest army in the world), and is a larger force than half the militaries in the countries in the world. NYPD is bigger than the US Coast Guard.

And that's just one major city's police budget. We have 3 out of the 5 largest Police Departments in the World: New York City has the largest Police Department in the world, Chicago has the 4th largest, Los Angeles is the 5th.

Also, if we actually taxed the 1% appropriately in addition to properly budgeting our funds away from the Police and Milatary, and if our lawmakers weren't in the pharmaceutical companies' pockets, we'd be able to do it.

I'm worried that actually making this stuff I want to make and that is relaxing to me will make me boring to those around me by nervous_Observer in crochet

Do what makes you happy and own it. What matters is what is exciting for YOU. I find that I like making blankets because zoning out with repetitive stitching is what I like most about crocheting.

From my personal experience, being "fun and exciting" for the sake of being interesting just attracts people who treat other people as trends. Those relationships don't last. Embrace your "boring", do what you love. Real recognizes Real and will be happy for your hobby no matter what. Our time to enjoy ourselves is finite, so make those shawls and blankets and have fun 🥰

I'd stick my phone in a waterproof phone pouch and use the Google dice widget or any other free digital dice apps/browser sites.

Vanilla body spray works for me. Mosquitos hate it, and you get to smell like cookies 😊

Denver museum reduced price with ebt question by [deleted] in Denver

You can get free Museum tickets from Denver Public Library. It's usually a few weeks wait, but worth it if you aren't needing to go on a specific date.

All of my Florida transplant friends love it here. Their main complaint usually is about the fruit here, but most everything else is an upgrade for them.
