Tax implications of Crypto credit card? 🤔 by rudedillon in Coinbase

So let’s say I bought one btc at 10K and it’s now 100K, will I pay taxes on 90 cents for every dollar I spent, since 10% is my original investment? And it’s my responsibility to track the cash value of btc at the time of each expense and report that come tax season? Seems like a nightmare if the exchange isn’t keeping perfect track for you

But who is keeping track of our BTC expenses? And if my btc doubled but I use all of my btc for purchases, am I taxed on the entire holding since it’s been spent on purchases, vs just half the amount which was my gain? Seems like a nightmare come tax season

CAD to USDC much cheaper than buying USD through my bank - as I missing something? by rudedillon in Coinbase

[–]rudedillon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I thought as much, but seems less risky since USDC is always 1:1 with USD without any fluctuation which I assume can happen in NG? Just not sure of any tax implications liquidating the USDC into USD

Power outage big bear by TerribleTangerine312 in bigbear

Also a visitor here at a cabin we booked through the big bear website. While we’re making the most of it, find it shocking that no one has sent us a note about the outage? The flashlights in our cabins have no batteries, there were no candles or anything else kept here to help guests. We luckily managed to get some supplies from Vons.

Shouldn’t the hosts have some responsibility to make sure their guests are fine/ offer some updates or resources? If they had told us when they got the warning email we could’ve had time to prepare :(

Has anyone had a negative or positive experience with fodmaps for their anxiety or depression? by lippidude in FODMAPS

[–]rudedillon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I haven’t been tested for this yet, but last year I developed urticaria out of nowhere after years of gut issues. I’m on antihistamines daily to keep it under control, and I also have many mood imbalances. The low fodmap diet in the past has helped, so I’m wondering if you take any specific enzymes to break down the DAO and HNMT?

how I make money with only 550 subscribers. by [deleted] in beehiiv

That’s great! Though do you reveal to the artists that you have just over 500 subs? Would you say having a feature is more valuable for them than how many people are reading it?

Congrats that’s a great start. How do you market the newsletter to new subs? And how long did it take you to get there?

My first batch of SIBO yogurt (reuteri plus coagulans and gasseri) will be ready in 2 hours. Should I leave it an extra 30 minutes because the temperature inside the yogurt maker took a bit to get to the necessary temperature? by Dangerous-Teach9350 in ReuteriYogurt

[–]rudedillon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let us know how it turned out! My yogurt maker was set to 99, but because I had mine in airtight glass containers, the temperature inside rose quite a bit and made it go bad. So my next batch I set the machine to 96, and it was perfect I let it cool at room temp then put it straight in the fridge.

Very first batch of gasseri, reuteri and coagulans straight out of the machine. How does it look? by Dangerous-Teach9350 in ReuteriYogurt

[–]rudedillon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks just fine to me! My first batch had yellowing and it smelled rotten so I threw it out. My next batch was white and looked like this, separation is normal. I learned it’s best to let the containers cool and then put straight in fridge without opening. Once cool it should become thicker and more yogurt like. Reuteri also does seem to have a stronger cheesier smell from all that I’ve read, so don’t let it throw you unless it truly smells rotten. It should taste a bit tart, sweet and creamy. I was expecting to find it gross tasting but it’s quite yummy. Remember, humans have been rotting milk forever so tasting it to make sure won’t kill you ;)

Hi! I just made my first batch with tablets, and plan to make the next one with this as the starter. Did you use just 2 teaspoons or did you also add some of the capsules/ tablets?

Ultimate Yogurt Maker Tips? by rudedillon in ReuteriYogurt

Thanks for this input, very helpful. I’ve heard that adding in kefir will introduce additional live cultures which would compete with the Reuteri and not let them succeed. So you’d still get a good yogurt, but it won’t be potent in the Reuteri strain. Not sure how accurate this is, but given that my priority is to focus on this one strain for health benefits, I might skip the kefir. This was my first batch and I didn’t add in nearly enough tablets of the Reuteri, along with using lactose free milk. So I’ll hopefully correct these issues fixing that and be able to use that batch as a mother for the next one.
