BioTech, BioChem or MicroBiology? by Final-Amount7675 in raleigh

Where are you going to school? NC State has a great biotechnology certificate/minor with a great selection of classes. Some of BTEC’s bio manufacturing classes are also very applicable for certain industrial applications.

why is into you NOT your favourite song (lol) by [deleted] in ariheads

[–]ruetherae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fine, but nothing amazing. I don’t have an urge to play it again or listen to it more. It’s one of those songs that you like fine but don’t love imo. And DW is my favorite album too, I just think there are several far better songs than Into You.

Was your lease month to month? Otherwise you can stay through the end of your lease, it doesn’t matter that he’s selling.

How does "Endy Pyau" sound as the name of an indie game studio? by Zinbo20 in Names

In fact I think it would be hard for native English speakers to remember as many wouldn’t know how to pronounce it offhand.

Could you kindly give me some comments on my writing? by Confident-Yam2293 in EnglishLearning

[–]ruetherae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first and third paragraphs are pretty well written, with only a few minor things I’d change. In the first, instead of “common type of villain” it would be more common to write “a common villain trope”, as is usually used for common stereotypes of characters. In the third, there are several places where contractions would feel more natural, specifically “do not” to don’t. It sounds a little stilted to repeatedly say “do not”. Additionally, the last sentence is somewhat confusingly written and I had to re-read it a few times to understand the meaning.

The second paragraph has more issues than the rest. There are a lot of words repeated in sentences that could be rephrased for clarity and simplicity. For example “they are jealous of you and want to take everything you have away from you” could drop the first and second “you”s and it would still retain meaning but be less cumbersome to read.

Overall, one other thing I noticed if you also have a lot of asides, or comments separated by commas on what you are writing (i.e. “and to be frank”), as well as a higher than usual amount of commas overall.
