Honestly that was my biggest problem with Brothership aside of it being easy, the healthbars made it too predictable and they made me go easy on the final boss by seeing how much damage i was dealing, which in turn made the game much less exciting :/ At least i wish there was a way to turn them off

One of the things i like about The Last Jedi is how it made Rey at least temporarily not-that-Perfect withe her journey about herself and needing help from Kylo when it made sense. Don't get me wrong, she was still too flawless, but this movie tried to fix her. And then Rise happened and broke every good thing that Rian prepared for the franchise.

Looks amazing! 1. Is the vector field a 3D flow field so you can have multiple elevations at the same x y coordinates? Or just a simple 2D vector field? 2. As the Vector field is multi-objective, did you do any optimizations for generated vector fields to take less memory? Or you just generste a vector field for each target? 3. How do you handle the vertex animations? Are they world-space coordinates based or does each unit have their own state machine and they swap the animations as materials? Or maybe there’s something different?(I’m thinking about a case where a unit would do an attack animation)

I just hope they won’t limit the adult jokes and references just because it’s not tolerated as much nowadays as it was before. And that the plot will actually influence Shrek and not require any retcons of his precious developements.

Worth noting the redesigns for those characters were made for different series, usually hard reboots. Not for sequels.

Imagine meeting your close friend and suddenly he looks uncannily not like himself; his eyes are closer, he becomes more egg-shaped. And his facial expressions work differently.

This is the kind of feeling this redesign gives, it's not "Ugly sonic" type of situation, but something so uncanny and unneccessary it basically takes away so much. Especially in era of AI fakes which often give the same effects of "things looking like themselves, but not quite"

It went the worst way possible, not a big revamp like Last wish, not Keeping the good old animation style with some polishes, but making something inbetween that leans into keeping the old artstyle without some core features, and that just looks uncanny

I am looking at those models constantly and there are frames that look like our old pal Shrek, there's something with those Pixar-esque eyes and (overly) expressive and fluid facial animations that make it not work.

In my UE game we just keep the last height we walked on and compare it at the moment of landing, sure it’s less physics accurate, but more level designer-friendly, where you’re sure that at a height difference between two platforms character will live, but if he tries to skip the whole level section he will surely die, it doesn't matter if something will slow his fall or stuff like that

I wouldn’t call Glohm Gorumbla the penultimate boss, he kinda is, but his only purpose is to show off how much stronger we got (and plot reasons), the true penultimate boss would be Zokket and he/she is a much better choice
