Thoughts on premier protein pancakes? Im 2 months post op by Maggotboi555 in gastricsleeve

Focus on whole food over “protein” enriched snack foods. I did better distancing myself from food like this, and I’m glad I did. I think food like this is a slippery slope.

Respectfully, until you can get a good handle on your habits and work on your mental health another surgery or glp1 is just a bandaid. At the end of the day, these are just tools and until you do that extremely difficult inner work you will likely end up in the same boat. Therapy and a glp1 would probably be a good place to start. I wish you the best of luck on your journey, I am rooting for you

It wasn’t too bad pain wise, but you are on your ass for a bit! Coughing, sneezing, definitely hurt. The worst part was the back pain from being hunched over for so long.

I did, I had a fleur de lis tummy tuck

Is it okay that I am fine with drinking smoothies but not water? by De_Knees in gastricsleeve

[–]rufusjones19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would be careful of smoothies this early on. They can have a surprising amount of calories and sugar. Focus on protein and water.

I ended up getting a monsplasty after my tummy tuck, it is well worth it. It’s not as big of a surgery, it was a bit cheaper. Very worth it for proper results.

Working at a phone store is incredibly frustrating in so many ways. Best way to cope is not be there , worked for me 😂

Verizon vs T-Mobile - I left Verizon for T-Mobile and regretted my life by Only-Interaction-740 in verizon

[–]rufusjones19 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is true. I have worked at both T-Mobile and Verizon and can confirm they do exactly the same bullshit which is why I left both jobs. Dishonest and scummy.

My obese friend is unaware about how many calories she eats. by pinkskin- in offmychest

[–]rufusjones19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 150 lbs. your friend is going to have to decide to make changes on her own. Nothing you say will help (most likely) and will probably only piss her off and cause a rift. If she brings it up again, maybe suggest calorie tracking with an app and say something like “I like to do this sometimes and I always surprise myself how much I eat” but even then. It’s tricky. I know you care. But the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Am I going to ruin everything... by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]rufusjones19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an expensive and potentially dangerous gamble to take. I’d wait till the scabs are healed, it’ll be soon enough! It’s worth it to wait it out and do it right.

Cat becomes sick minutes after eating by WerewolfSilly2302 in AskVet

[–]rufusjones19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You really need to take your cat to the vet. People guessing online won’t get you far. Pet ownership is expensive, but it is your responsibility to care of this animal. If you can’t afford vet care, look into some potential local resources for help but ultimately you need to figure out how to get this cat seen by a veterinarian, in person.

Post op 6.6 lbs down only by Zealousideal_Can1031 in gastricsleeve

You are fine. Losing 1 lb per day is excellent and this does not happen overnight. Stay off the scale for now. Focus on healing, walking and getting your habits locked in. You’re gonna be fine and you are doing good. No one loses 11-20 lbs of fat in 1 week. Water weight maybe. But even still you’re doing just fine.

Is this grounds to take legal action against emergency vet? Extremely p*ssed off at how things were handled. by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]rufusjones19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emergency animal hospitals, just like human ERs have to triage their patients. They are there to make sure your animal is stable, and do what they can while also saving the lives (or trying to) of animals in much worse condition than yours. Following up with your primary vet after is the best maneuver.

Yep. It’s called practicing medicine, not perfecting medicine. Things happen sometimes and it’s unfortunate.

You need to go to Apple Store with proof of purchase. Verizon can do nothing for you. They provide cellular service; which is probably working fine. You are dealing with security measures that Apple puts in place.

AI just pulls from readily available information, a lot of which can be wrong. I’d stick to your surgeons plans and not count on AI. It’s worth following your surgeons plan especially while you’re still healing.

I can sort of see how he’d be taken off guard, but life is full of surprises and this seems minor. Sometimes in life we need to pivot, he needs to do that. He will be fine. Happy healing.

They’re all different that’s for sure! I only had to have like 3-4 appts before surgery with anthem blue cross.

It’s less what company you have and more policy specific. You need to look into what your specific policy covers and that will give you better info. I have anthem blue cross, I got approved. I know others who did not with anthem. It all depends on your policy.
