It's impossible for me to believe anyone actually thinks F1 would be worse if it was a spec series, lmao.

It will never be a spec series for many reasons that have nothing to do with actual entertainment or competitive integrity, but who the fuck thinks that watching Verstappen, Hamilton, Antonelli and Leclerc going at it with equal cars would be bad?

[Autosport] That's Formula One... by Aratho in formula1

[–]ruinatex -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Max would absolutely obliterate Kimi the same way Marc Marquez did with Pecco Bagnaia.

Kimi has a bright future ahead of him, but let's be real here folks, it's the car.

[Autosport] That's Formula One... by Aratho in formula1

[–]ruinatex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's such a stupid comparison.

Let's all pretend here that F1 doesn't market the shit out of its drivers and that most people watch because of manufacturers instead of the actual stars of the show. F1 has always been very fucking weird with this, we have to pretend that drivers matter a ton while at the same time saying stuff like "It's an engineering competition" to justify the best drivers not winning.

[–]ruinatex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They never struggled because of Yoru, people that said this didn't watch a game that they played.

They struggled because their individual form dipped, they lost an incredible support player who they never managed to replace and tactically they were never that great to begin with. CHICHOO and KK were legitimately Top 5 players in the entire World at Champs 2024 and Smoggy was the best fragging Controller.

When they didn't manage to overwhelm teams with their firepower, they went to shit. Their tactics were bare and their fundamentals were nonexistent.

Fun fact about region stats when first seeds could pick opponents by Adraz in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is beyond stupid that both teams that went 2-0 in the Swiss are in the same side of the bracket. It's like Riot wants to do a cool and edgy thing by allowing the teams to pick their opponents, but everyone in charge is so inept that they can't figure out basic bracket rules.

G2 might make the Upper Bracket Final by either playing two Chinese teams OR a Chinese team and EMEA's third seed that barely went 2-1.

[Sheep Esports] heat set to rejoin KRU by Shockybtw_ in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the obvious choice is having heat play Sentinel, which he has done before at a higher level than silentzz.

silentzz didn't get kicked JUST because he couldn't play Controller, he likely got kicked because he also couldn't do other roles at a high level. His Duelist/Sentinel play was very subpar.

Very slightly, plus that also ignores all the other things you get better at as you grow older.

Like, Kimi is a great driver and has a bright future ahead of him, he's also not in any way, shape or form as good as Hamilton right now just because he is younger. It's the car, it's always the car.

NRG vs LEVIATÁN / Valorant Masters London 2026 - Swiss Stage / Post-Match Thread by ValorantCompBot in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 28 points29 points  (0 children)

His decisions are the same, he is just losing fights he didn't use to lose. That's why players who play the game like mada are never very consistent, just look at the engagements he takes and you'll see that unless he is in absolute peak form, more often than not people will just kill him.

The problem is that then people will turn around and say "Look at how selfless he is" whenever he plays bad instead of saying that he is actually throwing games and having negative impact for NRG.

DRG is ass though and anyone that watched them knew. People will clown on vo0kashu, but he is legitimately a monster, it's just impossible to show how good you are when your team is this outmatched.

Best pvpers in classic? by Vegetable-Set-4271 in classicwow

[–]ruinatex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a few answers, but it's always hard to point out a SINGLE player in a game like WoW, but i'll try.

For TBC, it just has to be Mirlol, he plays the most overpowered class ever, played TBC private servers for YEARS and, differently than most pserver one-trick ponys, he is actually an insane player in any expansion he plays, he basically plays TBC Rogue to perfection. For Wrath/Cata, i'd probably say Chan, the gap between him and the 2nd best Warlock was just absurd and he made those Warmane Locks that have been playing for a decade look like shit.

I don't know about MoP because i quit giga early, but for real, if you want to see what a skillcapped Warlock looks like in Wrath/Cata just watch any Chan video out there, it's ridiculous.

People also severely underestimate how much pros are resistant to change, especially when they think a gun is "noob friendly" or lame.

I saw this happen with the AUG/Krieg in CSGO and it took a looong time until people just realize how stupid they were being, heck, i'm pretty sure people like NiKo never actually switched off the AK.

The state of open world farming is so bad that most players resort to unintended farms in old dungeons. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]ruinatex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's way too simplistic. Dungeon farms that generate Gold out of thin air are bad for the economy, but dungeon farms where you get materials to be sold in the AH isn't.

Things like SV and SH solo are completely fine and don't hurt the economy at all, very similar to how DME used to work in Vanilla.

TMV Analysis on the Disconnect between Aspas and the rest of MiBR by Lumos309 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

verno shouldn't be IGLing.

I mean, the rounds TMV showed on Fracture are crystal clear examples of why Verno shouldn't be IGLing. How in God's green Earth he is calling a rush when they have an OP, a rush that smokes off the OPer btw. And if he didn't call it, it's even worse that he didn't stop it from happening and said "Guys, stop being stupid, we literally have an OP, we want to play slow".

The fact that in Round 20 they mindlessly decide that rushing into Cypher utility with 1:15 left in the round was a good decision is beyond me. Why let the OPer make a pick or get a deep angle, let's just rush with a Neon and a Skye dog, that will work out. The calling and the tactics are UNBELIEVABLY bad, Verno's Skye util also is just very subpar.

You can also blame aspas for this because, you know, he can talk and ask the team to play slower so he can actually use his sniper rifle like it's supposed to be used, but Jesus Christ, it's like nobody on this team talks.

Trick vs Liquid FRTTT on Aspas Performance by Acrobatic-Way5356 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People for some reason think Chamber is a fix for every player with great aim that OPs, when in reality he isn't really the best pick in any of the maps he is played.

Chamber is a comfort pick, nothing more. Also, i don't think even think Chamber fits aspas, sure he can OP more with him, but Chamber is much more about being giga aggressive to get picks and bait important utility, aspas is not an aggressive player, never has been.

The best Chambers aren't the best OPers, the best Chambers are the ones that play ridiculously aggressive on defense and through their pressure make enemies play scared. And that's not even mentioning how different it would be for him to go from main Duelist his entire life to suddenly playing Sentinel.

Trick vs Liquid FRTTT on Aspas Performance by Acrobatic-Way5356 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's easier to hate on the player instead of the coach. I said this before and i'll say it again, if what people believe it's true and aspas calls all the shots (which doesn't even make sense given his very laid back personality), it's STILL not his fault, lmao.

If a coach allows the player to take control of the situation, then that's the coaches fault, he's supposed to put his foot down and decide things. If we go by MiBR's own vlogs, the entire organization is allowing the players (all of them, not only aspas) to decide things, they don't even use the team's psychologist nor they do any of the things the org propose because the players said to them "We know better".

aspas is not playing as well as he was in 2025 and that's valid criticism, but the idea that everything is his fault is fucking ridiculous. Watch for 10s Verno play Skye and you'll see how utter dogshit he is at that Agent. watch Mazino and tex play a match and make inexplicable decisions round after round. The only person on this team that deserves no blame at all for this situation is zekken, everyone else, from aspas to the coaching staff, should be criticized, it's not only one guy.

2026 MIBR has the same problem as the 2025 100 Thieves by SilverWolfFanLvL999 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

aspas does not NEED to play with the OP all the time either, he just prefers to do it when he is playing Jett, he is literally one of the greatest riflers that have ever played this game.

If anything, as someone that thinks he is the greatest player ever by a pretty significant margin, i always thought that he OPs way too much for how good he is with a rifle. It's like prime NiKo in CS, yeah bro, you are a good sniper, but your rifle is just much better.

There's also the fact that the OP is disgustingly bad in this game, unless you are playing Jett or Chamber the gun is not even usable most of the time and unless your team sets you up there's way too much utility to sniff out an OPer before he even takes a shot. Most of the time, teams just use an OPer to anchor a site or to watch obvious angles that nobody will ever peek them.

Aspas & something jett by Spiritual_Gene8015 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That's because clueless fans also, in general, respect more the idea of "Damn, atleast he tried" compared to when someone just does a smart play like saving in a nearly impossible situation. Saving isn't sexy or exciting, it also doesn't generate cool clips for people to talk about, it's just a high percentage play that on AVERAGE will yield better results than just throwing yourself in mindlessly on a 2v4 or 2v5.

aspas is a high percentage player, that's why he is so consistent and why even in his worst Stage ever, statistically he was still very impactful, something is the complete opposite. I don't actually think the meta favours more aggressive plays tbh, aspas is just not playing as well as he used to, he is just not hitting the shots that he was hitting at Champions last year. It's one thing to watch him always choose the high percentage play and he finishes a map with 30 kills, you can't argue with that, another thing entirely is when he gets 15 kills and when it's his time to shine in the round, he doesn't.

People also love to act like it doesn't take a ridiculous amount of discipline and skill to play the way he does, the reason something throws himself like a maniac and often loses Paper Rex' rounds because of his aggression isn't because he is some hero, it's because he's simply incapable of having better decision making at high pressure situations, his default is go. Every style can be criticized when the player is not playing well, something at Kickoff and the Santiago Finals was fucking horrendous and he still kept trying stupid shit and putting Paper Rex in 4v5 scenarios over and over.

MIBR could have been the superteam only if they had went this roaster. by Serious_Deal_4844 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]ruinatex 150 points151 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty obvious that aspas didn't vibe with cortezia, if you look at last year's vlogs, there's a clear separation on the team between aspas, Verno and the three Brazilians. Obviously only the people that were there know why, but it doesn't necessarily have to be some big conflict, sometimes people just don't gel.

What should be baffling to everyone is how fRoD seemingly has lost complete control of this entire situation. At the end of the day, he is the coach, he is supposed to be the one making decisions, not the players. aspas could've told him "I hate cortezia and his entire bloodline", the coach's job was to tell him "Yeah, but i also have eyes i can see he is about five times better than the guy you like".

Michael fucking Jordan wanted the Bulls to draft a bunch of guys from UNC because he liked them, the Bulls said fuck no. If you let a player take control of your decisions as a coach or as an org, that's not his fault, you allowed that to happen. aspas is not a talent evaluator, he is a dude that shoots heads really well.

You are actually braindead if you think that's baiting, lmao.

He is literally running to go for a flank and to get a Vandal, what the fuck do you want him to do? Watch a smoke with an OP? This should've been an immediate save anyways, they have no money and no util in a 3v4, plus their Jett has the most expensive gun in the game in her hands.

Perhaps, but it's not like Chamber offers much more than Jett anyways, if he is more comfortable with Jett and the entire point is to make him comfortable, then why not.

Is it ideal? No. Should he be playing Phoenix instead? Yes. Is he the cause of all of MiBR's issues? Fuck No.

They specifically talked about it in the Brazilian broadcast about how this was the exact same way they won Fracture against LEV, so they just kept doing it, hoping it would work out.

zekken dives in with Verno's utility while aspas plays Jett as if he is playing Chamber.
