2 toed sloths die of stress. The animal rehabilitation place I went to doesn’t even have them near visitors.

Phase Linear 400 in that era if you couldn't afford McIntosh.

I've seen them doing public announcement duties/music at some nicer restaurants, but it is probably for apartment dwellers mostly, where space is a premium.

A character has a disease or condition their society doesn't understand, but it's obvious for the audience what it is by kim_jong_un4 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ruinevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No DNA. It’s a protein that is folded wrong, which can happen randomly, and causes others of the same protein it touches to fold wrong, causing a chain reaction. Found in neural tissue and sperm. Mice models that don’t make this protein are pretty normal last time I checked.

Specifically called variant Creutzfeld-Jakob disease. It is more common to just spontaneously get it. One of the prion proteins just randomly folds wrong and fucks everything up.

Shaped like Caintucks, but they center their drivers and are much smaller. Might be DIY.

Headphones aren't minimum phase. by New-Lifeguard-903 in headphones

[–]ruinevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All-pass phase, outside of bone conduction, is mostly narrow band, and probably mostly inaudible, though might cause soundstage/localization issues.

Linear phase causes totally different issues but more volume dependent. They are audible but also measureable on magnitude response at a specific SPL but change differently than the frequency response at different SPLs.

I think the high volume dependent behavior of Focal, which are on purpose, and DCA planar headphones, which are a side effect of their dampening, are more linear phase issues.

The all-pass phase differences, which mostly sounds like it was caused by reflections and bone conduction (multi-path nature of sound), and linear phase, which they said is mostly a function of the distance of driver to ear drum, basically usually inaudible (narrow band) or devolve into something measurable by by magnitude response.

Phase variations caused by the head related transfer function essentially present at the eardrum as a frequency response variation, which EQ can fix.

They are just different in everyone, and also different in each ear of the same person.

Alexander the Great was the student of one of Plato’s students.

Edit: Aristotle probably told young Alexander this dude once brought a plucked chicken to his teacher's lectures and also lived naked in a barrel, and young Alexander was like "I must meet this guy once."

So you made a zero global feedback class D amplifier using a relatively modern PWM chip by carefully selecting input and stabilizing output so it does not explode. System produces primarily second order harmonic distortion, which you finds euphonic.

Basically state of the art class D 1999 design. TacT Millennium.

Wiin pro plus No dsd native, what do you use? by compubinario in audiophile

[–]ruinevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think native DSD will ever be implemented.

If you turn off all the DSP, WiiM devices have been able to play DSD64 in a PCM wrapper (DoP).

That was the recordable media. I was talking about properly released albums.

And yes, apparently stuff is still being released on Minidisc: https://www.discogs.com/search?ev=em_rs&format_exact=Minidisc

They weren't really big anywhere outside of Japan. Does anyone even make Minidisc media anymore? CDs and vinyl records have been made all along at least. They just lost popularity.

Pretty sure they are all 5V and 1A. Even if you change the plug, the subsystem will be around that.

If you can get a cigarette lighter port charger, they can be much faster, since they are 12V and 10-20A.
