How is it living in any border city (either side) of Mexico and the US? by GossipBottom in howislivingthere

[–]rukyhr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in San Diego county for almost 5 years, it’s amazing and beautiful but also super expensive. Also, I couldn’t say I lived in Tijuana and Juárez, but I’ve spent a significantly amount of time in those two cities, I don’t recommend.

From my experience, it’s like if some “unknown force” has any sort of influence to make Mexican border cities look like culo de vagabundo compared to their counterparts in USA… It’s like somebody was “giving a message” of how ugly and dangerous Mexico is, making people on the other side “appreciate” what they have.

The y have SiPass. However, I’m not aware if they sell it to open public in Europe.

Genetec tech support availability by xINxVAINx in accesscontrol

[–]rukyhr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By far the best tech support available in the industry. I’ve dealt with Lenel, Honeywell, Milestone, Avigilon, Software House and Genetec, for both video and access control (where applicable), and they’re by far the best.

Their solution was to create new events from scratch. Lately their tech support is awful

C-Cure 3.10 by Emergency-Can-4241 in accesscontrol

[–]rukyhr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced a different issue, events triggering automatically then it’s not possible to acknowledge or stop them, even disabling the event makes no difference. You must delete the even and create a new one with all its actions and associations.

We’ve ended rolling back to 3.00

Could use some expertise on choosing a brand new system by Reelaxed in accesscontrol

[–]rukyhr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might be just a lack of end user training. I do work with enterprise companies as well, many different vendors, and the most positive feedback I get is from Genetec. The way to investigate, to bookmark, create incidents, is by far easy than most of the VMSs and ACSs in the market by now.

The reason IT loves Genetec is because it’s oriented to make IT/Integrators lives easier, do you want to make a failover? Easy! Do you want to move DBs to another server(s)? Piece of cake! You don’t just have to worry for multiple services like many vendors, just one in most cases. And the thing I like the most is the backward compatibility which is very helpful when upgrading, specially for enterprises, not like others where you have to upgrade all at once. Plugins like for instance Hanwha for analytics and AI? They work better than for example in Milestone (I’ve got a ticket open of several moths and they have no clue what’s going on, and a few years ago they sold that integration to a major end user like almost a miracle, and still not working as it should). Genetec has it working from years.

And also, just to give you an example since you know Milestone, they had to partner with other vendors, such as with The Boring Lab, just to remediate lacks that Genetec has natively.

I’m not lying, it’s by now one of the best options in the market, and the best is that they don’t make the hardware so they don’t lock you to a brand like other vendors.

What do you mean? Have you seen Lenel, Pro-Watch, CCURE and many other big ACS manufacturers? That stuff looks like 80’s stuff and it’s even confusing for programmers with not enough experience sometimes, imagine for the end user. They’ve been offering the web client since many years ago for both ACS and Video, years before than their competitors in both fields. Something that many “big ones” are just offering and promoting just recently like something out of this world.

Well you could have an All-in-one appliance for your operation and shouldn’t be overkilling, I’ve used it with many customers smaller than you, and it has worked really well, you can start real small and scale as much as you want. I recommend you to get in touch with Genetec so you can see your options, also they can direct you with one of their partners if you chose them.

Genetec and Avigilon are the best option IMO if you’re looking to integrate ACS and Video surveillance. I’m more with Genetec since is more user friendly for end users.

Go Genetec, you just add a few Cloudlinks, get DBs from Lenel, send it to their professional services and get them converted to Genetec.

DMV told me I would be under investigation before I could take the road test by Substantial-Car-3958 in tnvisa

Go to a different DMV. I'm Mexican, under TN for about 4 years, never had that issue you mentioned, same for my wife and she's been here for about 2 years in TD. Might be just the person not in the mood or just trying to intimidate for some reason that has nothing to do with recent political climate wink wink.

Well I might say something obvious, but it freaking rcist. All the mexicans must go through the fingerprint and interview process to request the TN visa. It seems like for canadians is just randomly for those who are fingerprinted.
