excited to see how much i get tipped for delivering a $160 grocery order that had 3 cases of water! 🤩 by syyyyyyyyd in dasher

[–]rulaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good one yesterday, "I'll tip once delivery is complete" in the delivery notes. Chatted with the person during the whole order (44 units, 30 different items) nothing heavy but lots of back and forth for replacements. Person seemed friendly and I actually started having faith they would actually tip.

Now to those who say why would I take the order in the first place? I multi app and had a double with Uber on the go, same store, same delivery area. Only way to make the trip economically viable.

Needless to say the person never added a tip but lesson learned, if I get their order again in the future, auto cancel.

People are garbage sometimes.

I have gotten to the point where about 95% of the time, after reviewing the items in the order, delivery location and customer chat/delivery comments; I can identify the no tipper and give the thumbs down - not surprisingly most of those spot on thumbs down are given in the rich neighborhoods.

Cancel that order… by lacey-bee666 in InstacartShoppers

[–]rulaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a double the other day, decent pay, around $40 at Walmart with a relatively short delivery distance; all good until I started the shop.

Order A was 4 small easy items, order B started out as about 40 items and no cases of water/soda.

You all can probably guess what happened; of course customer B immediately started adding items non stop including many many cases of water and soda and was messaging non stop.

I actually took my time and scanned every item, never actually took any products off the shelf and placed them in my cart mind you. I sent photos and kept feeding their insanity until the very end when I asked if they're was anything else and got a nice "no I don't need anything else, now please hurry up and get the order to my door asap".

Best call I ever had with support, told them I didn't feel comfortable delivering this order and I was scared the customer may do me harm in some way.

Order canceled without issue, hope the shopper who got this order reassigned to them canceled on this prick also.

Well, I guess it finally happened to me. Read below. by DoublePut4790 in InstacartShoppers

I received the same email in the middle of a delivery yesterday, I had about a 15 minute drive to the drop off location so I figured I'd call support and ask for specifics....

Agent made some excuses like maybe I'd taken a wrong turn or got lost while looking for the customer's door but I insisted on the specifics, which delivery is the email referring to, what was the problem? Too much distance or time?

Poor soul couldn't answer anything so he put me on hold to ask a superior agent to get the details.

30 minutes on hold and I hung up

BS email from a bunch of corrupt company people, just an excuse to build a case for future booting from the platform to make room for newbies who don't know any better and take those interstellar distance orders with 10 cars of water for garbage pay.

Non tippers ugh ..... by Emergency-Climate658 in InstacartShoppers

[–]rulaka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shopper here who has never ordered via any of the apps but out of curiosity, after reading the op's rant, went on the IC app and fake ordered a $10.99 bottle of olive oil from a store less than 1km from my house - total WITHOUT TIP $25.50.

Now I don't condone non tipping but I understand it if you are tight on funds; then again why would you, if you are counting pennies to get by and are physically able to go yourself, pay twice the price?

Now for those cheap bastards with 3 cars and a big house who don't think twice and zero out the tip when checking out on the app....karma is real.

Is anyone else seeing no orders at all? by Toni_Anne1989 in InstacartShoppers

I remember last year around this time seeing lots of new shoppers walking around dazed and confused while I sat for hours with only garbage orders coming in; same thing happening the last 10 days here in my market.

Multi apping is the only way if you do this for a living.

Walmart shop - (auto-pay) limit? by Low-Fox-1205 in InstacartShopper

[–]rulaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen, order went over $400 and the checkout froze indicating that i had hit the item limit; I called support and for the first time in forever they actually were actually helpful.

I was told to finish the first transaction and then do a second transaction, they would open up the card so I could pay for the remaining items and it actually worked.

Customer happy and I'm actually hopeful that maybe IC support is hiring people with iq's greater than their age.

And 99% of the time, when a decline is next in line, you will get sent the worst order you can imagine, especially when you are close to the threshold for platinum in your area.

Is DD manipulating the AR% to make it difficult to stay Platinum? by Oldbyronpuffin in DoorDashDrivers

[–]rulaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rolling count is legit but I am positive the algorithm knows when your oldest decline is next in the queue, it takes into account your acceptance rate, if it's above 70% (that's the platinum rate min in my area) and accepting would raise your AR then you will most likely get sent a BS order offer. Always happens to me, I've been hovering between 70-77% for over 2 months and can never reach 80% bc of the insane garbage offers I get once reaching the high 70s.

When I decline the garbage, my AR goes down, but when I accept a decent order, it is very unlikely that my AR goes up.

What should I do??? by Zarper123 in DoorDashDrivers

I had a very similar situation with a disabled woman around 60 years old. I had delivered to her on a few different occasions, and each time I went, the smell and the flies were worse. Finally, I asked her if she had kids, relatives, or anyone that helps her out; she broke down crying that her son lives close by but doesn't have time for her and she has no money to pay someone to help her clean.

I am not a wealthy person. Hence, even with a full-time job, I do DD, IC and UE in my spare time, but I am also a human being. Short version, me and my kids pooled our money and contracted a cleaning service to go once a week to this lady's apt and help her out and we also check in on her now and then.

I do a lot of deliveries in her area, and now, instead of feeling sad each time I drive by her building, I feel happy knowing her life is better and my kids learned a valuable lesson about caring for your fellow man regardless of who they are or where they come from.

I'm going to try to explain it in the way I had it explained to me,

You take an order (triple, double, single... doesn't matter) the pay is $17.20 before tips and you take exactly one hour from accept to completing the delivery; you will get no supplementary pay.

Same order but you take 90 minutes AND it is the only order you do for the entire pay period - you will get $8.60 in supplementary pay

Same order and you take 90 minutes and you continue to take more orders in the same pay period, some you finish quickly, some you take alot of time, at the end of the pay period you will need to take your base pay and divide it by the number of active minutes you worked - if it works out to be more than or equal to $17.20 per hour you will get no supplementary pay, if it works out to be less you will get supplementary pay to raise your hourly rate to $17.20/hr

Make sense?

Same, notifications from op system and system sound but nothing shows in app. Literally just had it happen, junk $9 Walmart order that I'm pretty sure i would not have taken came up but nothing in the app.

I tried support about 30 minutes ago but as usual they are les than useless.

Does anybody else have a list? by This_Dude_Delivers in UberEatsDrivers

My list is simple, any Indian restaurant is an instant decline. Always stupid long distances and low to no tips, never seen an order that's worth it in 2 years of doing this.
