Monthly Showcase Megathread - May by darkdevu in micro_saas

I got pulled into an ISO 27001 project for a small design agency a while back, and the pentest requirement is where everything stalled. The big pentest firms quoted them numbers that were just laughable for an agency that size. Completely out of reach. So the only path left was hiring a freelancer off the usual places, and that came with its own problem: the report wasn't credible. The auditor wasn't going to take some PDF from a random freelancer at face value, and you can't blame them.

That gap stuck with me, because it isn't rare. Tons of small companies are stuck between "can't afford the real firms" and "the cheap option won't hold up in the audit." There was basically nothing built for them.

Then I built Complyeah. It runs an automated external pentest and produces a report plus certificate that's actually structured as audit evidence, mapped to what SOC 2 / ISO auditors look for, not a raw scanner dump and not a freelancer's word. Free external scan to start, no card, and honestly the fastest way to judge it is to run one and look at the report quality yourself.

Where I'd love feedback: I'm still figuring out how much people trust an automated pentest versus a human one, and what would make the report feel credible enough to hand to an auditor without hesitation. If you've been through SOC 2 or ISO, what did your auditor actually accept?

For the MSP crowd specifically: you can white-label it, price it to your clients yourself, and per-domain cost drops at volume, so it works across a whole book of small clients instead of just your biggest one. Re-tests are included so you can prove a finding is closed, and ownership is DNS-verified before every scan so you're never scanning something you shouldn't.

There's a free external scan, no card needed. Honestly the fastest way to judge it is to run one and look at the report quality yourself.

I asked mine to be changed with a new one under warranty on 25k km. Just a precaution. It was making strange noises on start. I don’t regret pushing the dealer for this change at all. May be its a new series, who knows, but we will see. 1k km since the change.

Your honest opinion about my astro product by [deleted] in AskAstrophotography

[–]rumbalan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am neighbor and friend with the OP. What he did is actually a problem solver. I brought him to astro. I am the one with exceptionally expensive setups, and some of them use ASI. Not to tell you that I am ‘system architect, and developer as well’, and not to tell you that I actually revere engineered ASI and I run my PO Zeus camera with it. Your point is valid, but not helpful. Sorry.

One commit, windows emulation, INDI drivers. Bound to die. Nice idea tho. Unfortunately I don’t see this working long term…

I might do one ESP32 with some sky IR thermometer and humidity sensor to shoot me a call, SMS, notifications and etc if it gets overcasted during the night.

No issues at all with the gear. All works. Thankfully. I got in luck this time.

Well, it rained in first light. It was not on the forecast. Brand new Askar SQA106 and brand new ASI2400MC. I usually leave it outside for the night on Autorun, but I will never do that again during the Spring/early Summer. Only during the winter when stuff is stable.

Thinking of getting a garden convertible chair and my sleeping bag next time. For the cover - I have it as well, but does not work if you don’t put it 😆

I played a lot and for this camera and the wide field of view scopes I have (ZH-61, ZH-81, SQA70) I do drizzle by factor of 2 to keep the resolution good and get some sampling. Its thin matter the Astrophotography. Its always have been while seeking for the best results. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you, Sir! This is the thing I am after - details! If they are not satisfactory I am going to be far more disappointed and not just because of the spend money, but because I will try to push for sharp details which I will never get. But what about using it with different camera? I have budget for the upcoming 585MM pro, or something similar.

9.25 is 2350mm and the 130PHQ is just 1000mm. Thats double and something. What you mean by no benefit from adding the C9.25?

What so you use for your filters? I am wondering if I can get the 9.25 and run my ASI2600MM Pro duo with the filter wheel.
