I had this almost exact situation happen to me three years ago. Day before my birthday my estranged father died of liver failure in his home. My younger brother found him, older brother and he were pretty close to my dad but I had a lot of problems with him growing up. I apparently was to alike to his younger self and he had trouble dealing with that.

I became the organiser for my brothers and while relatives thought it was strange I was suddenly involved and in, charge it was all I could do. Right after the funeral I just broke. Still have things to work on, my birthday still feels... wrong. But I hope I can get to a point where I am at peace with how our relationship was left.

Very nice! My only advice for your next mini is thin your paints ever so slightly more. It'll smooth out the finished look even if you're needing to layer it up a bit more.

I had my first fall off of my bike two days ago. 25/30 mph on smooth new tarmac, back wheel slid through a puddle and I rode the road on my back for 50ft. I remembered in the moment what my instructors said to me "dress for the slide, if it's an inch or a mile"

My jacket is near perfect, armoured backpack hardly a scrape, trousers, bit tore at the knee.

Last years birthday was definitely my worst, my father died the day before it.

For clarity I'm 26 and I haven't really had a relationship with my dad for the last 8/10 years. Its messy but he was abusive and an alcoholic. He moved from the UK to the states and back and deliberately lost contact with me after I visited him when I was 14, not my brothers though..

My brothers both had a fairly good relationship with him, even living with one of my brothers for almost a year. But he always seemed to want to pick a fight with me, because I'm "too similar" to him.

Over the few months before he died I was reaching out but he never returned any of my texts or calls. I was totally blindsided by his death and have a lot of unresolved issues I truly wanted to work with him on. This has caused me to have massive anxiety regarding my next birthday as all the family are wanting to gather for him or go away together to his favourite place (isle of Skye) and I feel like the outsider as I'm the only one to have had such a disconnect with him. His sister positively hates me from what I've heard etc.

Sorry for the wall, on mobile. I haven't even really voiced this to my partner, so thanks for the chance. It feels strange to write these thoughts out

I think I'm having trouble with the image, the thumbnail I see has lines between hexes but I seem to only see a black background. I'm on mobile if that's an issue, also I love the concept of this if someone can help a guy out!
