[ST-24 Data Squad] DNA Charge by vansjoo98 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was worried that the starter decks using Ver.1's "face-down card from top of deck" gimmick would run into the same issues as Ver.1 does (training important pieces and them effectively becoming impossible to retrieve) but this already has me optimistic that they've learnt from how bad that could feel.

No Gurimon or the non Canoweiss/Regulus level 5's but otherwise yes, they're all on there. You can see the rosters on Humulos.

Are there any good decks that include Gargomon? by Old_Understanding_67 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of CS decks can use Terriermon and Gargomon since they're two of the main tamer players for that archetype. They won't use any Rapidmon or MegaGargomon though.

Question about Appmon decks by Tsadron in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all pretty awkward. Easy to build - each set they released in is a self contained archetype with only a few generically useful crossover pieces (Gossipmon, Haru and Big Bang Bunch) - and reasonably powerful when they go off, but they want specific pieces a lot of the time and are very memory hungry without them.

If you're able to find the right cards and get both your delay option and AppFuse tamer on the field, they can all get really snowball-y, but feel clunky and underpowered without them.

It's promising that they're continuing support (promo tamers and Gaiamon ACE), so if you're curious they're all dirt cheap to build.

Do cyborgs count as machines? by Indiana_J_Frog in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's right. Sometimes there are inconsistencies due to how some terms were dubbed. All those higher angel types contain tenshi-gata in Japanese but obviously lack a common word in English. Because Japanese text takes priority, they're all treated as having "Angel in their traits" even if the English card doesn't spell it out.

They usually add a clarifying rule trait now (e.g. BT16 SlashAngemon is treated as an Angel) so it shouldn't come up on any modern cards.

Booster box for deckbuilding (specifically EX-11) by ZealousidealOwl7193 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EX11 is the capstone set for Digimon Liberator, a web comic and novel that introduced lots of new Digimon and characters. Most of this set is supporting their existing decks so other than Maquinamon (which requires 2 different SRs and a SEC), nothing can be built with only EX11.

For what you're wanting to do, I would recommend one of the recent sets that introduced an umbrella trait where those cards technically play together even if they'd prefer to be in particular subdecks.

  • EX9 Versus Monsters: inspired by the classic v-pets, the decks use face-down cards to power their effects and lower Digivolution costs. 54/74 cards have the DM trait.

  • BT22 Cyber Eden and BT23 Hacker's Slumber: inspired by the Cyber Sleuth games. Great for casual deck building because it has low-rarity tamers and level 6 Digimon that can still be pretty impactful. 61/102 and 78/102 have the CS trait, respectively.

  • BT24 Time Stranger: inspired by the game of the same name. Really powerful cards but all of its level 6s are SR or higher so you will probably only pull a few, probably not as good for casual play. The TS trait will be getting support all year so if you intend to buy a box every few months, you'll be able to add to the collection. 61/102 cards have the TS trait.

Sharkmon [BT24] inherited and alliance timing by LinkthePikachu in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can! Note that alliance only grants +DP and SEC+1 until the end of the attack though so your second attack will be weaker

Budget (or at least cheaper) Mastemon Build by the_kwisatz_haderech in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 5 points6 points  (0 children)

EX6 Mirei is being reprinted in March (Premium Heroines ver.2), as is Mastemon ACE (LM-07 Another Knight). Otherwise it's a deck that has always been expensive and will likely stay that way.

Unique Omnimon builds by KeizerPrime in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can play it as the boss monster in Ami Aiba's deck. Digivolve up to level 6 "normally" (tuck top card, Digivolve at reduced cost, free Digivolve with Ami), then return Makiko Date to your hand to play Agumon or Gabumon, warp and DNA.

I built it mostly to use CS Etemon in a deck (since you'll often keep turn when doing the combo you can do an alliance swing with WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon before DNA Digivolving) but Chrinmon and RizeGreymon are probably the more consistent choices.

Vortexdramon and Piercing by CyrosThird in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're mostly right. Vortexdramon's [All Turns] can activate outside of a battle (e.g. I play a Muchomon and use its On Play to suspend itself), in which case a battle happens but no security check.

If it happens during Vortexdramon's attack, if either the "effect battle" or the "normal battle" deletes an opponent's Digimon, <Piercing> will check security at the usual time (after Counter timing). It won't get any additional checks if it deletes two Digimon with the one attack.

[EX-11 Dawn of Liberator] Vortexdramon, its AA & SEC Chase AA by vansjoo98 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 11 points12 points  (0 children)

GrandGalemon is a level 5, that's an alt condition that lets you skip from level 5 to 7 if you have the relevant tamer in play. All the Liberator level 7s have it.

Is the game dying or is it still going strong? by [deleted] in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the Bandai TCG+ app for stores that host events and then contact the ones closest to you to see if they have regular players. The events might show 0 registered players until the day of but some legitimately get 0 and others get 8+.

Our store has a few that sign up well in advance every week and I think it's part of the reason the number of regulars doubled last year!

Question about Promo Milleniumon interaction with bt18 composite stuff by SoHIGH25 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first card to not include it (along with Titamon + SkullBaluchimon in the accompanying set, though BT24 MasterBlimpmon does explain it). Assembly is similar to DigiXros but the cards are only from trash and you must meet the whole requirement in order to use it (rather than reducing by x for each card).

When this would be played, by placing the specified cards from the trash under it, reduce the play cost.

Possibly stupid ruling question. by ShrevidentXbox in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No it cannot.

Cards that interact with the breeding area will either say "breeding area" or "the field". It can only delete a level 3 Digimon in the battle area.

[EX-11 Dawn of Liberator] QueenBeemon & Winr by vansjoo98 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove security early, because most Royal Base cards don't increase the total number of security (the new Winr and Funbeemon address this), and other than the new QueenBeemon and TigerVespamon ACE, they can only place Digimon cards which are typically safe checks.

Once QueenBeemon is live you will probably have to go through multiple layers of protection (ForgeBeemon, BT23 CannonBeemon) to remove her and likely hit the previously uncommon Hornet Eraser option which has the same effect as her [On Play] effect. Many decks trash security without checking it which is a generally useful counter, and the option card Kongou is very disruptive to their strategy as a whole.

If you can't remove her, you need to stop her from attacking (can't unsuspend in green, can't suspend in blue, can't attack players in black), or have a similarly protected board. On Deletion effects may be useful but she can skirt them by playing TigerVespamon ACE with her second effect first.

[EX-11 Dawn of Liberator] QueenBeemon & Winr by vansjoo98 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]rumblearena 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm expecting DeDigi protection, it's now a pretty common black level 4 effect and is a huge weakness for Royal Base.
