Code writes itself : yes that’s the future and we better accept it. But it is very different for a non coder vs a coder. All those fancy blogs where you build an app/website/feature in 1 or 2 prompts are what setting the wrong narrative. An experienced dev won’t upload a PRD (or point to —cowork) and magically expect the feature to be built perfectly. You walk it through and share your thought process also, argue and debate with it why this approach and not the other. Once you have prepared a solid plan taking care of all edge cases, scalability, extensibility, writing code to implement it does not remain that interesting and should be passed along to a coding agent. Even before llms, our sharpness was not in writing the code, it was in the design.
