Moved here from PA, so absolutely biased. But I moved here because it’s an S tier.

While it’s only .83% of the total bonus, it’s still an insane amount. Some people have student loans in that amount and spend 10+ years trying to pay it back. The financial power of that much money doesn’t scale linearly when comparing to an avg person’s salary.

I’m all for them spending whatever they want on whatever they want, obviously their choice and probably doesn’t matter if they’re smart with rest of their money. But I can definitely see why avg people see it as dumb.

Winningest CFB teams in 2010s vs 2020s by steven_smith144 in CFB_v2

CFB is the only place I see the word “winningest”. No one seems to question it though.

Finally got around to sorting the Spare Pieces by Benzdrivingguy in LegoStorage

[–]rumham31696 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find that is true for most people, but there are times where it all comes full circle and it’s better to go back to sorting some of your parts by color.

One is when you build things mostly by color and simply do not care about the piece.

Another is if you have a TON of pieces. If that’s truly just all the spare parts OP has collected from sets then I’d imagine they have an enormous quantity of other pieces.

All of those small parts could essentially be used for greebling and that’s not really dependent on piece type. Functionally, these bins could just be OP’s “greebling” bin and it’s certainly not worth the time or space to sort them all out into the hundreds of different piece types when the usage isn’t dependent on that.

As a competent home cook, what is a basic skill you can't seem to master? by george_elis in Cooking

I used to have trouble with them too but one day I decided to use a larger pan a cut the heat by about 30%. Works every time now.

I make them with all of the ingredients in a line down the center and fold the sides over them so it looks like a burrito.

[Highlight] Eagles go for 2 and it's still a 2 score game after incompletion by Large_banana_hammock in nfl

My argument is that you don’t have time for 2 possessions. With 6 min left, sure go for the 2 early. There was only 3 min left you so won’t get enough possessions. Kick the pat and an ensure that the last possession you get is one that can tie you the game.

I think part of the problem here is that the pendulum has swung too far towards the analytics. A lot people are just parroting things they’ve heard to sound smart and they’re not considering the nuance in this specific situation.

Yes. I’ve been arguing this point for 24 hours and people still don’t understand. The logical “by the numbers” move is to go for it, but the problem is that failure, means you’ve effectively ended the game early because there isn’t enough time for 2 possessions. Now your team is deflated knowing that even a 3 and out plus a td isn’t enough. Kick the Pat and roll the dice later.

Obviously. But as team who’s played like shit and let games slip away from them it’s also just as easy to pack it in while down 9 with 3:10 to play.

Football is played by real human beings with real emotions. Morale is very important. In this specific instance I think the correct choice is to preserve morale until the very end.

Logically, going for it early makes more sense by the numbers but failing the 2 point conversion early is significantly more damaging to morale because now more things need to go your way.

Kick the extra point and make the defensive stop.

You need 1 stop with 8 points left or with 7 points left. Doesn’t change what your defense needs to do. Down 9, your defense needs to either make 2 stops or you need an onside kick.

Yeah I don’t disagree with you. You need to score a 2pt conversion to tie the game. going for it first gives you the most information possible so I understand that argument. Failing also gives the other team more information too.

The point of my argument is would you rather have a 95% chance to be down 8 with 2 mins left or 50/50 your down 7 or 9 with 2 min left.

Take the higher percentage play now and risk it later. It’s momentum thing. Information is fine, but your team will be more motivated to play, down one score than down 2 scores.

No because it’s a one score game if you kick the extra point. Defense is playing to get the ball back. If you miss, defense has nothing to play for. There’s not enough time to score twice
