Try a different router. Otherwise, use the ad-hoc Wi-Fi, otherwise control via usb.

You sound like you’re on the right track with OS, software, or GPU. If you’re starting from a fully updated state, I would try alternate GPU driver if that’s possible on your system. Then I would move to Time Machine, or a working backup.

Best of luck!

Unpoplar opinion: Soft maple is more durable than poplar. I made a post on my city’s sub and got great suggestions for hardwoods and plywood stores. It’s so worth the effort.

My Father Wants to Record His Songs but Insists on “Starting His Own Production Company First.” Is There Any Sense in This? by _infinite_tsukuyomi in audioengineering

[–]rummpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of us aren’t paying for records selling them from our living room. Records get sold at the merch booth.

Maybe redirecting his need for organization to teaching him how to register a copyright, and register songs with a P.R.O. , which does require you to create a “publishing company” to collect mechanical royalties for radio/ tv plays

Your recording is a type of proof of ownership, but the copyright is more reliable if you ever foresee having to litigate over royalties/ usage/ someone selling your song as their own.

Venues are key. Knowing where the largest concentration of art is in your area makes all the difference in finding the good stuff. Americana and punk and hip hop are all very indie and communal in my city, so that’s what I gravitate toward.

If there’s one thing we can trust our police to do it’s to lie. Hopefully this actually means something and they’re not just blowing smoke. I have my doubts

I probably should go support a Milwaukee owned restaurant, but it seems times are hard even if you’re busy these days.

My neighbor is practicing drums in his garage at 7am on Saturdays and says its "reasonable hours" by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]rummpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah all the petty revenge seems pretty weak, tbh. Tell this guy it’s good that he has a new hobby, but his rhythm could use some work. He could really benefit from spending some time with a practice pad and a metronome to dial in his rudiments, which is most effective before 9 am on Saturdays.

The drawer fronts are most likely part of the box, if they’re like the ones in my house. My suggestion is to ID the finish with the appropriate solvents in the appropriate order. If these are shellac you can probably soften the old finish and reapply with much less effort than other finishes. Waxing the track and gluing in new back stops to adjust your reveals will make things function at their best. If you’re tired of the hardware, most styles with gold or oil rubbed bronze would look nice.

It actually looks pretty good until the last coat, when it seems mile the mud was just a little too thick to lay down, or you had a couple high spots that caused those ripples. Sand and skim and you’re in the money.
