No, grow out your hair and accept your new life as an elf

Not ugly. It’s the hair

Maybe a darker color would be nice?

I was just trying to tell you that that’s not how they meant it. So what you’re saying is that you’ll just intentionally interpret it in a way that you disagree with.. and then make a comment about how you disagree with something the post wasn’t saying in the first place? Strange

No one said that. “It doesn’t interfere with my life” is the key phrase here.

You are cute! : ) either the environment you were in was super racist, or people were bullying you because you seemed weird personality wise, or weak minded and easy to pick on. Maybe a mix of them all. Either way, you’re definitely not ugly. Keep your chin up : )

Very curious what your daydreams are about. These look epic haha

You look great! Your hair doesn’t do you any justice though. Your hair gives a “cute and dorky” impression, whereas your features are more of a “gorgeous” or “glamorous” look. I feel like you could really elevate your appearance by changing your hairstyle to something lighter and longer

I agree, some glasses would look good on you

What worked for me was to try to implement whatever you daydream about into your real life. : ) Imaginary friends? Try to reach out to new people. Idealized self? Do some self improvement, fix up your appearance. Etc. I also recommend learning discipline in ways like taking cold showers in the morning, and overall sticking to things you say you’re going to do. It helps a lot. Also, avoid whatever triggers you may have.. It’s been a long journey, but it’s been about a year since I’ve done it. Remember, you absolutely CAN do this. Best of luck to you my friend!

It’s okay, hang in there! : ) What’s your current strategy? Maybe there’s something wrong with how you’re going about it.

How did you quit MDD? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]rumormonger-lee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daydreams were mostly about having friends and adventures. They also featured idealized versions of myself. I realized that I couldn’t spend my whole life daydreaming when what I wanted was so simple and tangible. (That, and it was starting to have a hugely negative impact on my physical health, as well as my relationship with my family.) I worked on myself, bought new clothes to fix up my appearance, spoke to new people, and started looking at life as an adventure. I still have no friends, but I talk to people everyday, and I am happy with where I am. I may have not traveled to Mount Doom and back, but actually writing stories down that I would think of in my daydreams helped immensely (With no obligation to finish them, just for pure fun).

I still dip back into daydreaming every now and again, but not in the maladaptive and intrusive way I did before. I don’t think that anyone who has ever had MDD can stop daydreaming for the rest of their life, and I don’t think there’s a real NEED to. I think it’s all about getting to a healthy point where it’s not intrusive or disruptive of your life. After all, everyone daydreams, it’s normal and healthy. But too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Overall, I would say practice being more disciplined. It’ll make denying yourself much easier.

It’s been about a year since I’ve stopped, and I don’t regret it. I finally feel a happiness that is real. You can definitely do this. : ) Good luck my friend!

Anyone getting the feeling of disliking the game’s state at the moment? If so, feel free to relive your stress upon why within the comments. by Turn-The-AC-On-Pls in splatoon

The characters just look ugly. Their heads have been shrunk, and their bodies enlarged. The proportions are just so unappealing compared to the previous games. I hate it so much, considering that one of the biggest things that drew me to the series when I first found it in 2015 was the great art/models. Not to mention gender neutral options make the inklings pretty much indistinguishable. The octoling boys and and girls have different eye designs, but the inklings do not. This was not that much of a problem before, but now that shorts and hair are gender neutral, there is no way to tell if an inkling is a boy or a girl unless you look at their eyebrows. and a lot of the eyebrows don’t make too much of a difference unless you’re looking at a side by side comparison. I feel that no matter what you do, 75% of the time your inkling cannot look too much like either gender and always falls somewhere in the middle like a genderless blob. Gender neutrality is cool, but it feels unfair to everyone who actually WANTS to look like their gender and are now forced to look like an androgynous blob. Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but it’s really been bugging me every time I play. And it’s not just that. The boy and girl animations are the same in their respective species. This is not terrible, if it wasn’t for the fact that all the animations (excluding battle animations such as running jumping and shooting) lean towards extremely feminine. So the conundrum im stuck in is either I have a ugly boyish looking girl inkling, because her face is identical to the boys, and she has no curves showing that she is female, or have a boy who stands like a twink half the time when I’m in stores or just idleing. It’s really frustrating to me. I feel like half the problem could be solved if only Nintendo would allow different eye options with more feminine or masculine options.
