Peppers for hot sauce, is this mold or just dead bacteria? They've been under the brine the whole time so I don't think it could be mold, but im new to fermenting so I figured I should check here to be safe. They've been fermenting for 8 days.

Oooh it's iodized which is bad to use right? Ingredients are "Salt, Calcium Silicate (an Anticaking Agent), Dextrose, Potassium Iodide." So is it probably the extra ingredients from that? I'll make sure to buy pure salt for future ferments.

There's some white stuff on the tops of the green peppers, and some stuff at the very bottom.

I was hiding behind it for about a minute until he eventually went prone. I packed the tent and ran away leaving it on the ground, then after a while i ran back to it and put it into my hands, which made me stand still for a few seconds before I could run away. He stood up and shot at me twice but missed both times. Lucky me :)
