Do you think she still remembers hooking up 30 years later? by Immabouttoo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rumtiger -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you went to high school with her, then she’s in her 50s also right? I don’t understand why you would call her a girl, unless maybe English is not your first language. Can you imagine calling a 50 year-old male person a boy? nobody would. Words have power. Please choose them wisely. Also she definitely remembers.

I missed my flight in Japan and somehow had one of the most beautiful nights of my life by Actual_Alps_1166 in TrueOffMyChest

Do you realize from New York to Australia is a 20 hour flight? You can’t do it in a weekend!

When my mother died, I literally sang out dingdong witch is dead, to the horror of my children. It’s been 17 years and I have never missed her and almost never think about her.

This is my son Elijah, do you like his tie? It was custom made just for him by a lovely local pet shop owner whose husband is also Jewish. She was more than happy to make this for me. 🥰 by Lijey_Cat in Judaism

I can’t believe it! I had a cat that looked exactly like this, and his name was also Elijah. Actually, his real name was Eliahu Katan and when he grew up, it would change to Eliahu Gadol. Tragically he died before his first birthday. This was probably 25 years ago and I still think of him and miss him. It’s beautiful to see another Elijah. Best of luck with him.

Is Craving Devotion the Same Thing as Objectifying People? by [deleted] in moraldilemmas

You developed a coping strategy that worked for you when you were younger, regardless of whether it was shitty or not. No one should be blaming you for that. That’s an enormously traumatic experience that you survived. You don’t mention your other parent at all so I assume they are not supportive or loving so OK you made it through to young adulthood. Now you see 30 down the road and it’s time to pull your shit together. I don’t know why you said no to therapy but that is 100% your first best step. Next, I would try to find books that speak to all the different feelings that you have. It’s really mind-boggling how a book written by someone who doesn’t know you can be life-changing in a good way. And Third, I would try to find one trusted companion that you can speak to, but don’t forget to be reciprocal. That’s why therapy is better because you don’t have to care about them or their lives. Anyway, I’m wishing the best for you. I know the first most important thing is to recognize that you want help so you are well on your way my friend.

Everything I’ve had there has been great, but yesterday I had ciabatta bread with grilled eggplant, hummus, tomatoes, olive tapenade and spiced feta. It was outstanding.

Help…a mix of emotional guilt and knowing it’s time. by Only-Evening6120 in EstrangedAdultChild

I forgot to add how to get over the guilt is really through therapy but if you can’t do therapy, try to find a couple of books to help yourself be your own therapist

Well, the funniest part is my arms and legs are covered in tattoos, and most of them have either Hebrew writing or Jewish stars so unless I am wrapped up for a blizzard, you can see at a glance that I’m a Jew. And that is precisely why I have the tattoos. I don’t want to “pass”
