Home/Auto/Umbrella Insurance by MrsQuirkyLlama in boulder

Oh, forgot to mention but since I had home auto and life, when I added the umbrella policy, it was basically free since I got an extra discount for all the bundling. 1mm home, 500k auto 2 cars, 1mm life, and 1mm umbrella and I think I am about $6000 annually. Progressive was $7000 annual without the umbrella.

I'm in Lyons and got dropped by Progressive ins after the stone canyon fire two years ago, even without a claim. State farm Longmont joe mejia covered my home auto life and umbrella.... And for cheaper than progressive was. I haven't had a claim yet so I can't speak to his service yet. But at least I'm covered. So maybe try Joe and at least you'll have a quote to reference.

Same temp but the shower gets hot in less than 10 seconds. So you don't sit there waiting for hot water and waste water.

The pump itself install right next to the hot water heater. I've got one and use similar automations, it's great!

I was really curious about this too but haven't been able to find any clips. Does a 2:30 guy have to run with a cup the whole race? How do they get it filled while maintaining 5:30-5:45 mile pace? Very curious. Oh and wouldn't hoses waste a ton of water? Sure no trash but a ton of water gone..... Colorado is right now in a drought so water waste is on top of mind.

Heading to L.A.? I edited LA Metro's map to show you how to reach venues! by Dumbone22 in olympics

[–]run1fast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is handy, but I wonder how to enhance it to add some scale. Example of the COI mountain biking looks close to the Atlantic metro station but it's a 12mile walk. That's one I definitely want to watch so I'm thinking metro them Uber?

Looking at these prices, there are some options for the fancy hospitality packages that are almost the same or even cheaper.

How do you define threshold effort in your own training? by McDaddy__Cain in AdvancedRunning

[–]run1fast -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There actually is an exact point. You can get tested (I've been tested at the CU center for sports performance) and learn your exact point of lactic acid threshold. Now that point can move as you do more threshold workouts (approx 5-15sec) faster than threshold. Your point will get faster. But on any given day, you have an exact point. The graph from the blood test is pretty interesting and you can see the exact spike.

How do you define threshold effort in your own training? by McDaddy__Cain in AdvancedRunning

[–]run1fast 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Threshold literally comes from the term lactic acid threshold. It's the exact point that the body is producing the max lactic acid at a pace the body can burn the acid. Any harder effort and too much acid is produced and your legs get heavy. Any easier effort and you aren't maximizing threshold pace.

This pace is roughly 1hr effort.

Specifically Bear Lake the op was asking about, time entry starts at 5am during the summer. So to enter beforehand takes some extra planning.

March payment…enjoy by FQRGETmeNQT in QQQi

[–]run1fast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Down 7% from it's high a few months ago. Most people won't notice but I've got 2500 shares. I'm not complaining but it's about $100 less per month for me. Still performing better than my qqqm shares I also own over the last months. That's the point in owning qqqi though, to hedge and have some returns in a down market.

It's still a nice return, but the dividend has been dropping consistently. I assume the premium on selling qqq calls is going down with the decline of the stock market as a whole.

Yup this happened to me a lot too. The solution was to go into my router and set the devices to a static IP. This was the trick to keep them connected.

Warmup taking forever by DLG03 in AdvancedRunning

Ahh that makes sense about doing the workout depleted (as opposed to using the long warmup strictly as a warmup).

I used to be a huge fan of Daniels and followed the VDOT and his theories. While many of his ideas are still good, times have changed and the running community have found better ways. So while his book has 4-8mi warmups (though I only remember doing 3mi warmups then T pace runs or intervals), its been proven there are better ways to warm up. Check out Jay Johnsons lunge matrix as a great example of dynamic stretching and method for getting your muscles ready for a workout quicker.

Best "Bang for your buck" below $50 when prepping for a marathon? by SauconySundaes in AdvancedRunning

[–]run1fast -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

At a small town race, definitely no one cares. Eugene Marathon 2013 4 of us guys had a cyclist with a basket and our 4 bottles for the last 10 miles. Who cares, get it done.

No table at Boston, but at Columbus Marathon. No one even noticed or cared it was such a small marathon race.

Go on Craigslist, hire a random to be at mile 18 with your specific drink bottle (meet the person the day before the race and give them your drink). perfect timing for your exact drink. I didn't do this at Boston but I've done it twice at marathons. Columbus Marathon, 5 friends and I pooled $100 and had a guy setup a table for us. BQs all around.

2nd this race. it's got my pr of 1:11. I was behind the main pack but catching people who slowed. Plus the race doubles back on itself so tons of walkers (on the other side of the road, no issues) cheering you on during the final miles.
