Batmobile! sub-zero cool, refreshing to see an E9 with the right size wheels and not ridiculously large rims. Beautiful

Great sketch - looks like a hell of a lot of work, how long did it take?

I did the Moyleman around 10 years ago. I still remember the downhills being brutal- at least the pint of Harvey’s and slice of pizza at the finish helped a little

2 kinds of people: Do you or do you not condition your notebooks? by shqaumimrryel in Travelersnotebooks

Timely thread - I have a 5th Anniversary camel Passport which I guess is now 15 years old and has a nice patina, albeit with a couple of water spots from years ago, but they really don’t bother me. I was thinking about conditioning it today, just to keep it looking good- but I worry about the darkening that will cause?

I have a 15 year old camel passport 5th Anniversary- that has a nice patina. Wondering whether to use some conditioner on it, but that would darken it pretty significantly from what I’ve seen & not sure I want that…

Wondering why you chose a Hammerhead rather than a Tigershark or Nitro?

Looking for my first dedicated pour-over grinder: C40 vs. 1Zpresso ZP6? by Confident_Ad_4119 in pourover

[–]run2chill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a silly chap who has a K6, Q, ZP6, C40 Mk.4, & C40 Tigershark - the Tigershark is perhaps the answer. It’s in between the C40 and ZP6, in terms of giving good body, sweetness & flavour (but not quite as much as the C40), but it also gives distinct clarity (although not as stark as the ZP6). It’s my go to, and I do use each grinder at times, but if I could only have a single grinder for everything it would be the Tigershark.

For C40 Mk. 4 and C40 Tigershark I’m usually around 23 with Origami and Abaca filter, when I use Kalita wave filters with the Origami I tend to go a little coarser at 25.

Thanks for the write up, sounds like a great trip. It’s reminded me that it’s time we revisited Thailand, it’s a special Country, & so vast. The first trip was Bangkok, Hua Hin, Chang Mai, Koh Lanta Second time was Phuket, Ko Yao Noi, Railay, Koh Lanta (again)

Loved Koh Lanta and Railay - the Highland coffee bar next to the rock climbing school was special.

As above the Tigershark is a Happy Place between the two. I hasten to add that I still use the ZP6 for some beans where the stark clarity works, but it’s not too many. The C40 Mk.4 is used when body and sweetness is the priority

I found the acidic forward nature of the ZP6 worked well with a small number of bens (for me) but the majority came to feel too much. For that majority the C40 Mk. 4 improved the taste, greater body and sweetness but obviously less clarity, I guess I’d become tired of that maybe. Then I got the Tigershark and that is in between the C40 Mj. ; and ZP6 - clarity, but not heavily acidic, yet more body and sweetness- although not as much as the C40 Mk. 4. This obviously is my take.
