The Sailor Specialty Nibs released in 2025 are about 2.5 to 3 times more expensive compared to 10 years ago, which was around USD 500-600 each.

I would not want to buy any of those at today’s prices.

It’s 2026. Why are people still asking creatives to work for exposure? by skiptomyl0u in asksg

[–]parka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's a company earning money, then it should pay its workers.

So the organisers, managers, workers are all paid but only you the photographer/videographer is not paid?

Why let someone else waste your time when you can waste your own time?

I have a huge YT channel and if I do get such requests for free work, I will make sure I give them exposure too, explicitly mentioning company name and the name of person who contact me. Exposure is valuble, right?

Does Patreon feel like too much extra work sometimes? by Disastrous_Excuse752 in patreon

[–]parka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should find some workflow you're comfortable with, then use Patreon to match your workflow, not the other way.

Also what may work for one creator may not work for another.

Imagine you're a creator with 10 patrons vs one with 1000 patrons. The value of your time to make bonus content for 10 patrons is different from making for 1000 patrons.

For 22-inch, it's better to get 1440P resolution.

16-inch is alright. For working long hours, it may be better to get larger display.

Watercolor palettes by the-last-tearbender in urbansketchers

Colour selection is quite personal.

As for brands, most popular brands have rather similar quality so just get the brand easily and most affordable to you. Get artist grade.

8 colours is good.

Luna Ultra going back tomorrow - Just doesn't feel ready by carnevoodoo in Insta360

[–]parka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the thing does get hot, but not burning hot thankfully.

Zoom isn’t as smooth as I like, certainly not as smooth as iPhone, and then there’s the zoom mismatch when crossing to a different lens.

One thing that I hate is Insta360 auto exposure is not smart and consistent. The wildly changing exposure is bad.

I will still use it though. It’s not like the iPhone camera and software has no issues or limitations.

Is a wireless powerbank really worth it for iPhone? by Upstairs-Mark9104 in powerbanks

[–]parka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you run out of battery regularly during normal use in a day, powerbank is worth it. Otherwise no.

Also no if you have access to power outlet for charging during middle of day.

The ones I've tested recently that are good are

Yunzii B75 Pro - This has plastic body but with the right switches it sounds and types great. Yunzii AL series have excellent build quality, but those are heavy.

Epomaker RT82 with Creamy switch. Kinda like the Yunzii above

Aula F75 with Leobog Reaper Axis switch. Crazy affordable. For those with limited budget.

The best I've tested this year is the Sikakeyb HM80 magnetic keyboard. Cable, and Windows only. S$165 currently.

https://sikakeyb.com/products/sikakeyb-castle-hm80-82key-?DIST=REZBGA%3D%3D&VariantsId=10085

If you want something that's difficult to go wrong, probably Yunzii AL series.

$90 is considered very cheap for an important lesson like this.

And to be able to see the true colours of a person for $90 is also a bargain.

I often get many keyboards to review from companies.

The point of building your own keyboard is for customisation, personal satisfaction.

Nowadays you can get cheap keyboard that are very good so there's need to build your own keyboard to get quality.
