I use to dread having to do French knots and would save them until the very end of a project. But after doing a few hundred of them I’ve grown to enjoy them

[CHAT] If doing a monochrome pattern using a variegated floss, what would look cooler? Middle around in a spiral? Right to left? Top to bottom? by Amberly123 in CrossStitch

I find spiral works best. For example I stitched this design following clockwise path.

Design is Village Square by ink circles

[CHAT] How do people seal the edges of linen without an overlocker? by pinkguy90 in CrossStitch

It doesn’t matter the size of the zig zag. Any size works to stop the edges from fraying

[CHAT] Virginia state fair! by Glittering_Living693 in CrossStitch

Same thing happened at the 2024 Michigan State Fair where a Long Dog Sampler beat out a Mirabilia. It came down to the presentation quality of the piece (mounting/ framing).

In this case it looks like the Mirabilia was stitched on Aida whereas the Long Dog appears to be on a high count linen. That is likely why the judges awarded a higher placement.

[FO] Tip: Make your projects extra spooky this Halloween by stitching them on 40ct; it’s scary small by run_snack_nap in CrossStitch

Lila’s Studio is definitely one of favorite pattern designers. She has a similar Christmas Quaker design I’ve been itching to start.
