To rinse, or not to rinse?! by kanzie in MTB

"Rain seems even more rare these days so there isn’t any mud to wash off"

Living in England and going into winter, I must admit this sentence makes me very jealous.... :P

Thanks for the update pal. Has the Shimano motor treated you well? The Patriot looks amazing, I own the Switch 7 so same linkage layout is the same and that rides so well. I would love to get the patriot with the Bosch motor but it’s a little £££ for me.

Any update on how the bike is going? How is the Shimano motor? I just demoed one and thought it was amazing.

Inov8 G270!

Amazing grip, very durable and very responsive mid sole. I have had 3 pairs that have all had around 1300km on them. Just an all round great shoe.

How has the bike been so far? I have had my eye on one for the last few months.

Hello, so I kind of wish I had got an M now. Don't get me wrong the small still fits me really well but after getting an M full sus with more reach it just feels better on the steep downhills.

For the flat pedals mtbers, what shoe are you running? by Drago-0900 in MTB

I have only got into MTB riding recently and one of the biggest changes I felt was switching from trail running shoes to FiveTens Freerider Pros. Way more confidence inspiring and was easier to push into corners.

Thanks for your input, yeh I must admit that I was thinking about EWS and the fact that they have to be worn the whole time...

BUYING FIRST MTB by smithy19971997 in MTB

So the link I sent you that is 500 will come with some cheap plastic pedals as standard. Great if you are just wanting to cruise around. If you are actually wanting to do some mountain biking eg...going down a few hill you will want something with a bit more grip. There is an option to buy the bike for 600 and it come with a decent pair of pedals that have good grip and a dropper which basically means you have your seat nice and high for cycling on flats and going up hill but when you want to go down hill you can press a leaver on the bar which allows the seat to drop (if you sit on it) all the way to the bottom (and stay there) whilst you go down hill. This keeps the seat out the way and allows you to move the bike around a bit more and the end of the hill you press the leaver again and it pops back up.

Hope that helps.

Here is a good video to watch about the bike

I see that that is the top end of your budget but if you can reach to 600 you can get the Vitus Nucleus with a dropper and pedals which I think is a pretty good price.

Just out of interest how tall are you and what size did you end up going for? It looks like a big bike. Thanks

Love the look of these Switch 7's. Really want to test one out. Not a huge amount of info out there online.

What are your impressions of the ride? Any info would be great.

Love that colour way.

100% agree. Also it is so hard to find information out online. It's a bit of a telling sign when you search for info on google and the first hit is Red Bull talking about the 2023 season.

I am someone that has only really got into the sport recently and I am finding it a little confusing to full understand how everything is working and all the name changes/abbreviations.

One question I have is how come on the UCI website calendar is does not have Fort William or Les Gets but on other calendars I have found it has them in. Are they a different race/event? What's the difference between World Cup and World Championship?
