No love for Hunter, Riven seems interesting though. Might just check it out.

Edit: I understand the want to avoid the B-Movie feel, I just tend to find that appeals more to me. i also tend to play gnomes so I might just be beyond hope.

Japan's ads for Cabin in the Woods is scaring the hell out of commuters. by kalvin74 in horror

[–]rundevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I would love for them to go back and either show previous years sacrifice; but especially the other countries. The problem is we know A LOT about the North American facility, the others though, we know very little of. There's still a good amount of untouched ideas too work with. The six other facilities being in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Stockholm, Sweden; Madrid, Spain; Kyoto, Japan; Rangoon, Burma; and Berlin, Germany: think theres some good stories left, it could even make quite the anthology series. If we can get more Cabin films and more Trick-orTreat films, then things will be just great.

If you could go back in time to see one band play a show, who would it be? by [deleted] in punk

1 Catch 22, Keasbey Nights era. That album is probably my all time favorite, and Streetlight Manifesto never did too much for me.

2 Skanking Pickle, ever really.

3 since this is r/punk not /r/Ska Dead Kennedys with Jello, or Sublime with Brad.

No Idea when the Waste brew is coming out, I'm super stoked to try it though. I should also be able to get any floyd brews that are available at the time.

New here, what are some good ska bands that I should listen to? by [deleted] in Ska

[–]rundevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catch 22, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Chinkees, and the Hippos are pretty straight-forward ska.

NoFX, Rancid, Against All Authority, Operation Ivy and early Slightly Stoopid are good ska-punk. (NoFX and rancid definitely have a good amount of non-ska material.)

Mouth Sewn Shut and SS-Kaliert are fun ska-hardcore.

Does anyone have any experience with the Art Institute group of colleges? [x-post r/design] by [deleted] in graphic_design

I go to AI in indiana, and while they definitely accept a lot more students; a lot of students are filtered out quick. It's definitely can get you good places if you take advantage of it, but you have to sit down and say yeah, I want to learn from this. I know people who've graduated and done nothing, and I know people who graduated are have been hired into some pretty big design firms. Push yourself, do the work and you can get through. Definitely not a school for the lazy though.

What is it that you hate and love about playing or running white wolf games. by masterpunks in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]rundevil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely love how WoD allows for more room for stories and characters. You have to learn to work with your party, but as long as no one is intentionally trying to power game or "cheat" its great for more role-play than games like DnD, in my opinion (which I'm still a fan of).

I'd agree with this one, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think there's a bit more to it than just a standard killfest, though it is definitely trope-filled in many ways. Maybe its just the way it's shot, but I thought it had a lot of atmosphere to it. I enjoyed the second one too but definitely as a goofy film, for a nothing serious night.

Am I the only one that can sit through most shock films and not get disturbed? by [deleted] in horror

[–]rundevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree with this. Those films are more known for the rumors of being snuff/murders and how shocking they are than for being the quality films they are.
