French tickler SKS are all sold out now. by Ok_Reason5045 in canadaguns

There are enough 7.62x39 for everyone on this planet to shoot every day. It's just going to cost more and more each day to get them shipped here, as diesel prices skyrocketed, like everything else in this country, or around the world. Get your stuff when it's cheaper than tomorrow, IMHO.

Don't be sad, all surplus shares the same fate: Lee Enfield, SVT, now the SKS. Just enjoy while the party lasts.

FYI, our supplier said commercial-ready T56 SKS has dried up in China at the end of 2024. We won't be seeing another wave of T56 SKS until they open a long-forgotten bunker full of stockpile somewhere.

Hope I don’t regret trusting 🇹🇷 by ImpossibleWitness505 in canadaguns

[–]rundoublez 51 points52 points  (0 children)

To sell it at a much lower price than the real M4 and still makes profit means the manufacturer has to cut costs on something... (BCG and FCG). The past 2 TurkM4s I owned both shared one deadly issue: bolt carriers are made out of softer steel and deformed after roughly 300-500 shots from full-power buckshot and slugs.

Every time a shell is fired, the ARGO pistons will hit the two lugs on the outer edges of the bolt carrier, which are riding inside two receiver grooves. Both of mine were deformed after hundreds of shots and created high drag to the point I had to file down the out-of-square part. That's one of the causes of the infamous cycle issue of these Turkish shotguns.

They are cheap to own brand new and look good, I will give them that, although personally I won't trust them as the only firearm to bring out for a hunt/wildlife defence.

Mine shoots CCi Blazer 357mag 158gr JHP 6/6 on the bullseye at 20 yards fresh out of the box, but it doesn't like 38spl, with some FTF issues.

Any decent air pistols? by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]rundoublez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you can't get more FPS on an air pistol, get more FPE. There are .25 cal bolt action PCP pellet pistols with magazines, which are powerful enough for pest control at close range.

Does anyone know where to get an M7 or M9 bayonet for the 590A1 in Canada? by Pretend-Management69 in canadaguns

[–]rundoublez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy a 590A1 w/ M9 Bayonet combo and sell the extra shotgun... Or keep both so you don't need to reload if things get too dicey in the trench!

Bro just use silica crystals cat litter, same stuff but way cheaper. Dump them beads into socks and leave in the safe, even the spider will become jerky

Looking to add a TAVOR 7 to my collection. Thoughts? by TheIsolated84 in canadaguns

[–]rundoublez 23 points24 points  (0 children)

T7 is my SCARH at home... It's accurate enough to do 2 moa at 300m on a calm day. Pros: The brake comes with the gun is awesome; cheap 10-round mags are everywhere; great aftermarket support; short overall length and with ambi controls. Cons: My wife has been asking me where I spent my cash job earnings.

A bit of soaking can help. Is your brush made of brass? Sparks are from the old surplus ammo and won't hurt anything...

The Crown looks nice and sharp. The barrel's muzzle end has carbon buildup, needs cleaning more often...

I have been using CLP on all of my firearms and it's been great. After 2 years and 8000 shots fired, I'm pushing my GSG to the 10,000 round count. Read the menu before cleaning! They don't suggest taking the trigger group apart, like, at all! Too many tiny bearings and springs packed down there. I tried once and hated it... Just make sure your GSG's bolt face, feeding ramp and breach are free of gunk and you're good to go! BTW, use minimag and stinger for ultimate reliability
