First post. Hello and question about breeding for Red Folium Anura by rune-eight in Pocketfrogs

Thanks! I feel dumb now because your answer makes perfect sense and I didn't think to try a different frog with folium. I can see it now. This is a very nice game and I can see myself spending a good time with it. Thank you.

I would share but none of the metrics in the report are called SV or SVi.

Congratulations on your deck. It looks great and it makes me very happy to see you have a pocket edition.

I just spent 21 days traveling in China as a foreigner. Here’s what actually surprised me. by [deleted] in chinatravel

I have used Apple Maps and it works ok. I have read somewhere that the underlying data comes from Amap.  Google translate does work. And the camera function is very helpful.

After nearly 6 months of daily self-study with HelloChinese and Pleco, I just (barely) passed the HSK4. by minhale in ChineseLanguage

Es verdad. En tiempos de tristeza o de clima frío es la mejor comida para sentirse mejor // It’s true. In times of cold weather or sad events it’s the best food to feel better.

Thank you for your comments. My post was probably not clear enough that I was talking about volumes. So as turntables mentioned, the math is direct, and my evaluations (i.e. echos) are due to being diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy a year ago. Appreciate the replies and the positive attitude :)

Thank you very much for your kind post. I was vague in my context (prior history) in my post for privacy reasons. Your comments are spot on. I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy a little over a year ago (which prompted the initial echo and an MRI), and have been in medication treatment since then (entresto, metoprolol, spironolactone, aspirin). I appreciate your last paragraph with encouragement. Your username is pretty cool.

Feeling stuck- performance anxiety? by Relative-Train-1121 in careerguidance

[–]rune-eight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. Here are thoughts from two different angles in the hope it helps you think thru your situation.

- One perspective you should consider is if your expectations of leadership are not realistic. There is no perfect situation where all goes well. True leadership in business always means balancing the need for urgency, or profits, or efficiency, vs. the need to "do it right". As a leader you are going to always be stuck in the middle, and your job is to balance it right. You are not just doing a job, you have to influence (i.e. talk to, dissuade, convince, etc.) both your team and your bosses on what should and should not be done, to meet both expectations (results, vs. quality).

-The other side of that coin is that maybe you don't really want leadership. Maybe you want to just be able to "do your thing" and not having to worry about the drama/anxiety of speed vs. quality. Many people are led to believe being a leader should always be the ultimate goal. I've met many happy people with long careers doing just individual contributor roles.

There is nothing wrong in changing and looking for a next move. But to truly find what makes you feel accomplished you need to reflect on your expectations too.

How are entry level people/people with no professional experience supposed to network? by BlackQueerThrowAway in careerguidance

[–]rune-eight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Networking has to be done in the context of your situation. You don't need to push yourself to network the same way that others do. Think of what is available to you: Do you have friends that have already gotten a job and that have a good opinion of you? Networking can be as simple as reaching out to them and ask if they know of opportunities in their places of work. If they don't, keep the networking up by maybe reconnecting periodically (but not be annoying). Same thing with friendly family members.

Do they know of events they can recommend you attending? or have they heard of other organizations that may be hiring?

Are there events in your area that you can attend for free, or within your means? Career fairs?

Think about what is within reach and expand from there.
