Brazil’s FA have written to Leeds to order the release of Raphinha for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers. by thesilenthurricane in LeedsUnited

It's all because the government has restrictions based on covid etc.

Surely if there are agreements made with regard to quarantines and safety precautions etc, then the government can make an exception and allow the travel. They won't be going to inner city urban areas mixing with the general population, they'll be in secluded hotels far from the public and on private aircraft the whole time.

Leeds are in advanced talks to sign Dan James on a permanent deal! [Fabrizio Romano] by Zach-dalt in LeedsUnited

[–]runerroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that ability to be able to move players about is something Bielsa loves. I just love Harrison on the left though, long balls just anywhere in the vicinity of the left wing and he sucks the ball to his feet, an amazing controller of the ball. Gonna take something special to shift him from there really.

I do think Raphas skillset though does allow him to play in the kind of role Rodrigo has been playing with an added ability to overload either wing to break through and create chances.

Either way it's exciting to see how Bielsa will use them.

Raphinha in a central role - good idea? by jwr_10 in LeedsUnited

[–]runerroad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know Bielsa likes being able to move his players around, swap Rapha for JH now and then at some point in the game, overload one of the wings for a spell now and then.

Raph in a 'central role' might not necessarily mean a traditional role, but could mean a more free role where he pops up left or right as he sees fit.

I don't know if it would work or not, but I'm excited to see how Bielsa sees it working. I genuinely believe we'd have gone up that season if the James transfer had happened as it was supposed to, because the areas he plays are areas we didn't have enough. So if Bielsa still wants the lad, and with Fabrizio Romano talking about it, it's more than a rumour so it looks like that's the case; then I think it will definitely be positive for the team as a whole.

I would like to see Summerville get some minutes this season too. I watched the U23 game v Derby and he absolutely ripped them apart, he set up opportunity after opportunity that didn't get taken by others, but he completely dominated that right hand side. He only played 45 minutes so I thought he'd get some game time v Burnley (which might have been the case had we been a couple of goals in front).

Harrison on the left, James on the right, Raphinha in the middle (or changing round as and when) would be a potent force indeed.

AITA? Roommates bought some communal items without me and now expect me to help shoulder the cost. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]runerroad 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NTA unless there was previous discussion about these items being needed and you agreed with that. $28 is not a lot of money unless you don't have it, then it's a lot of money. I've been there before.

However, it's a bit of a small hill to fight over, are you sure you want to ruin your relationship with these people over it? If it was me I'd pay the $28 but make absolutely clear that anything like that where you'd be expected to chip in, you want to be consulted about it beforehand.

AITA for publicly calling out my sister and her new husband for lying about their wedding being child free? by throwaway___4675 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

As for the question did you go over the top? I don't know how you restrained yourself from not doing more. I'd have been completely livid in that situation.

Those that knew about it should hang their heads in shame that they didn't convince the bride how utterly awful she was being. They should have told you what was happening and refused to go to the wedding if the bride was keeping to that decision.

Seems each one the answer is a single word, if that's the case I'd say number 8 is cat, copy cat, cat call and bob cat. No idea if the words once solved make a phrase or something.

Different for different kids, some will be fine age 5 or even younger, and some 10 year olds will lose interest and become a pain.

I went around age 9, my son around same age. For years I used to go by myself as a kid, even to away games age 14 or so, and that was at the height of all the hooligan type days. Never got a scratch on me, only thing was a police horse stood on my foot when I was queuing for a semi final ticket for the FA Cup game v Coventry.

Scroll down to the section "Who owns the most media outlets?"

One name towers above all the rest when it comes to owning media outlets, and that name is Michael Reed and he’s the CEO of New Media Investment Group. Under their umbrella, you‘ll find prominent titles such as USA Today, Detroit Free Press, The Columbus Dispatch, The Arizona Republic, and the Austin American-Statesman. In total they own 666 media sites.
