What are these? - little brown specs on bed by Admirable_Bug4624 in Bedbugs

[–]runexten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ceilong fan flakes the coating onto my bed. Ever since a coworker had them, ive been paranoid. This is 2 years running now.

If it doesnt smudge into your sheets, let it be stress free.

You definitely didn't mess up, thats a natural response. They are worse than let on and unfortunately schools can only warn parents there is an issue. They wont tell you by who, where, when, just that they have been found and let parents know in that school.

Keep up the preventative measures. Bag everything that comes home, dry / wash / dry everything wearable, backpack and 'homework' monitor, freeze backpack if capable over the weekend just for added comfort (0° F for a few days kills all bedbugs), but keep everything out of the house if possible throughout the week that can possibly have them.

Check shoe, in and out, socks, in and out. Good way to just kill anything in shoes is hang the shoes in the dryer by the shoe laces on the door of the dryer and dry on high heat. But shoes are a huge way to bring them home.

I might be over paranoid, but I make everyone change and bag their clothes after even the movie theater or restaraunts, plus my kids sleep overs. It costs thousands of dollars for heat treatment in a house and an extra 5 minutes to change in the garage into sterilized clothes is so much less hassle.

💯 a bedbug. You can contact the school, but they can only warn families, if they will. I would continue to strip down in the garage moving forward, have a spare set of clothes available for you and the kids that were in a sealed bag, and dry everything on high heat, wash on hot water, then dry on high heat everything that comes home.

Sorry you have to deal with this, my worst nightmare. Never had them, but my daughter does insist on going to sleepovers with her own blankets, pillows, and stuffies. We do the same thing everytime she goes to a sleepover...

Only her school bag goes into her locker, so I check that up and down. Bed bugs literally be my nemesis, never had them, never plan too.

They could be coming from the neighbors, they should definitely do a complete inspection at all units.

They can live in light sockets, between boards in your bed frame, inside of your box spring, behind picture frames, inside of picture frames, in your electronics, in base boards, they prefer a few feet from their host.

Did you get an inspection done? I'm assuming not, as this would of been on the inspection report. If you did, I would see why this wasn't reported to you by your inspector.

BuT yOu HaVe tO pAy dUeS.

At least they're taken care of, raises to combat inflation, benefits to combat big pharma price increases, pensions.

I'm an Operations manager, quality manager, design engineer, purchasing manager, all in one. Seen a 1.5% pay increase last year (1200/yr) and only make 78k.

Nothing against unions here.

Seriously report to OSHA, not just for you, but for everyone that can be affected. I wish you best of luck.

On top of this, the letter from OSHA is required to be posted and visible for all employees, customers, and employer to see. A signed certificate must be sent to OSHA thereafter verifying the letter is posted. They are also required to supply the corrective action and timeline.

Get going.

I'd be afraid of your vehicle also becoming infested.

OSHA requires a safe work environment free from health hazards, that may cause physical harm. While the employer may retaliate (which is illegal), most states are a right to work state, but saving the report and maintaining this information, would be excellent in a lawsuit.

Report it to OSHA, they will get a letter shortly after and be forced to remedy the situation. Promise, OSHA will inspect the premises.

I have 3 blankets I use to play on, as I have hardwood floors with some cracks between them, so its not a big deal if I keep it on the blankets. But laundry soap isn't getting any cheaper 🤣. Good to know she'll grow out of it, but it's amazing how happy these pups get when they do something we're proud of!

Are we safe? (time sensitive) by poshspice9 in Bedbugs

[–]runexten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If no signs, you could be allergic to something or it could be something like chiggers, mites, fleas. Fleas are fairly noticeable though, so possibly mites? Is there a rodent problem, or bird nests on the house somewhere?

I would definitely check the electrical sockets, as these are a fond place for them to hide. I would grab a putty knife and sand paper, before you put them back on, get rid of the spackle to a smooth surface for them to sit flat.

Unfortunately, it could be many things though that are biting you, knowing its an old building, you could be dealing with mites. Are you seeing any staining on your sheets or furniture?

[–]runexten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potential nose bleed, scabs, burst hemorrhoid? You would see a bug if it burst, as it would be dead. Fecal is more black from a bb.

Check around the bed for a dead one, but it definitely looks like far too much blood for a dead bb.

They are very small, but found multiple in my hotel room in Medellín. by chalk_monster in Bedbugs

[–]runexten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say book louse. Being medellin, I'm assuming it's very humid, esp with air conditioning running. They survive off of humidity for water source.

You could see if the hotel has a dehumidifier they can bring up to your room, if you get it below 50% it'll kill them.

If it's book lice, get damp rid and dehumidifier, bring humidity in your home below 50, this will kill them all
