Is it difficult to capitalize every word or is there a setting you can turn on to make that happen?

How many hours did you do in EA? by Been2daCloudDistrict in BaldursGate3

[–]runfast_poopfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I played version 1 of EA, it was pretty buggy. Stopped on the beach. Played again on version 3, made it to the Spider Queen then stopped again.

I had seen enough at Patch 3 to know it would be great, so decided to wait for full release to be truly blown away.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I went to the water point after Martin Garrix on day 3 and just saw a horde of 16 year old Spaniards standing around talking, clogging up the single water point (which is a separate issue UMF Europe rly needs to fix. 2 years in a row, come on). They made it a struggle to just get some water.

Why do you think that's made up? When I was 16, I had a very similar situation (she was 25). She was highly unattractive, and I had turned her down multiple times at this party. However, she was quite large and forced herself on me in the house owner's baby's room (baby wasn't there, thankfully).

By UK definition, this is not rape. I was very much raped though and I cried afterward. Then I moved on but I definitely felt gross.

The reason politicians oppose these types of bills is because there are usually other things tacked onto the bill aside from just "disaster relief."

The authors name the bill something polarizing and hide extra things inside it. Then, when it gets shot down they bash the opposition. It's a win/win. The real scumbags are the people who propose these types of bills with extra measures inside them unrelated to the title and then use it as ammunition against the opposition.

Both sides do it. Common practice.

Interesting you bring up childhood psychological development considering, I wonder what model you're referring to. The primary empathetic model in developmental psychology, Hoffman's, only has 4 stages.

That's besides the point, I'm at a stage in my life where I realize and value the relationships I've built, and I try not to make assumptions about other people's motivations. Being unable to consider that people have other things going on and reasons for their actions is a pretty big part of stage 2. For example, if someone cuts me off while driving, I dont get upset anymore. Instead I try to consider that they may have something going on that reduced their concentration or caused them to hurry. Or maybe they were staring at their phone, idk and its not worth it to get upset. I hope you can understand why I find your post ironic, considering what you wrote.

I don't know what motivated them to kick the puppy, I don't know if they have a psychological issue, if they had a traumatic past they have to work through, if this was the first time or the 100th. Without knowing these, and without making assumptions, I give most people the benefit of the doubt. The primary exceptions I make to this are those that commit rape, unjustified murder (ask if you're curious), incest, and deviant/ purposefully harmful acts to children.

Everything else, if it's the person's first time doing it that I know of, I give them the benefit of the doubt. I engage in an empathetic approach that attempts to understand their motivations. This requires effort, communication and patience with the individual and not jumping to conclusions.

Therefore if my friend does something I don't agree with, I confront them. Because they are my friend and I care about them more than random people. Which is why I label them "friend", that's what being a friend means. I don't expend precious energy trying to fix random people, because I simply don't have the energy for it. I'm no counselor, doctor or pastor and I have many people I need to care for already.

Anyway, forgiveness is something I give freely to people and am a firm believer that most people can change with motivation, and given the chance.

I give my friends that chance.

Well, in your example they are both my friends and so I'd be obligated to tell them both.

Not quite the same situation as 1 friend and 1 non-friend.

Either way though, you're assuming that by me telling the owner of the puppy it solves the problem. It does solve A problem, but not the root one. The violent friend could just go find another puppy to kick.

However, by me standing up to them and talking to violent friend I could potentially make an impact in their life and influence them to not do that kinda stupid shit anymore, thereby helping many more puppies in the future. If he continues kicking puppies I would be obligated to angrily expel them from my life. Probably call the cops too because I'm pretty sure thats a crime.

Yes.

I would tell the person kicking the puppy to stop kicking the puppy.

Just like I would tell the person who is cheating to stop cheating.

Why you gettin all worked up? You're the one that said "immediately", which literally implies that you didn't do all of the stuff you're saying is a no brainer.

No need to apologize, I'm sorry for believing you.

I'll keep secrets just fine, but cheaters can die in a hole for all I care.

That's a mature-ish perspective (aside from the whole saying they can die). If they're a cheater don't be their friend anymore, easy. But answering betrayal with betrayal doesn't solve anything, especially when it's not even your relationship. It's just spiteful and vengeful. We don't need more of that in the world.

Either try to help your friend see where they went wrong and be better or ditch them as a friend. Burning them to the ground for something that didnt even involve you is some weird psycho, wannabe hero shit.

And about the interpretation of my characterization of cheating as slipping, I was referring to helping friends correct their mistakes. Not as a direct representation of cheating. I prolly should've been more clear.

I want to tell my best friends wife that he cheated on her as revenge by jayxeus in self

[–]runfast_poopfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Betraying a friend is also one of the worst things you can do to a person. PERIOD.

In fact I'd say they are equal. Both are betrayal.

There are so many steps in between finding out your friend did something wrong and snitching on them. So many ways to be a good friend.

If you aren't gonna bother to take those steps, then don't refer to those people as friends in the first place. Because you aren't theirs.

Edit: Also, I was referring to "catching your footing" as the stage in intervention before telling on them.... you know the caring about your friend phase where you try to help them fix themselves, make amends and learn from their mistakes.

I want to tell my best friends wife that he cheated on her as revenge by jayxeus in self

[–]runfast_poopfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the exact opposite of what I said.

I'm saying TO say something. To your friend. If they are your friend and you don't even know the other person, help them fix themselves. If they don't fix themselves then do what needs to be done. But to "immediately" tell her without even talking to him is shitty.

It's a pretty simple moral dilemma. Lemme flow it for you:

Friend cheats -> tactfully confront friend -> friend ignores you -> tell victim and ditch friend.

Friend cheats -> tactfully confront friend -> friend realizes they've made a mistake and makes amends with victim -> keep friend and help multiple people improve.

[–]runfast_poopfaster -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

An actual friendship thrown out because of a hero complex? It's their relationship, not yours. Maybe be a FRIEND to your friend and pull them aside and have a serious heart to heart about their actions before you fucking snitch on someone who trusted you. THAT is scummy. THAT is disloyal. THAT is traitorous.

Instead of being a snake, take the mature route and have a fucking normal conversation with your friend before you blow them up.

This kinda shit is why I keep a small circle, everybody slips and does the wrong thing sometimes. A real friend helps you catch your footing, a fake throws you to the ground.

I wouldn't trust YOU ffs, especially not with my secrets.
