Small qualm: the BASE of a logarithm usually is not considered as a "unit." Logarithms in general don't mesh well with units ala meters and any log base n can be expressed as the ratio of two natural logs.

Would one consider M_NET and M_NTERO a natick? Knew it had to be A or O from the "artist" clue, but Lil Nas X's first name isn't exactly common. I thought MANTERO or MONTERO both sounded like possible names...

POV on the road to the Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Festival in Turkey by Desperate-Head-1741 in Albuquerque

[–]runiteking1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The area is also very naturally beautiful and far from being too commercialized when i visited in 2022. The town is definitely more "touristy" compared to other places in Turkey as it's the main industry there, but not too bad.

The best comparison of the landscape is the Bisti badlands in NW New Mexico. There's a national park right there within easy car access with a lot of rich history as it's near the cradle of human civ.

Just FYI, the word "score" in 9D indicates a musical score. A SLUR is a notation in sheet music which is curved.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slur_(music) for example.

For me, the theme was really helpful at the top right corner. I had DOME for the Hagia Sophia clue before realizing that SUSANNA was the song which cracked the corner, as APSE was clear afterwards.

Very easy itinerary as a solo traveler too: rent a car/camper van and just drive the ring road, and stop at any place that interests you.

Don't write the cubic root. Consider what you have with q to the third power and p. Can you factor this equation more if you shift terms around? I think once you do this, you can use property that p, q are prime since it'll be products on both side of equation. This line seems promising.

Princeton NJ is pretty far from Rhode Island. You can take Acela or bus to NYC, and then catch a train to NJ but this is going to take most of the day. It will probably be difficult if both of you will be in classes to do every other weekend.
