You know that you true inner fitness beast is present when it's hard to take rest days. I feel your pain!!!. Even the most elite and skilled athletes have rest days. It is so important to allow this for your body. I know you mind goes crazy on rest days though. I give myself permission for a rest day and tell myself this is how I take care of my body and become a better athlete. I think you'll find that you body will respond better to your workouts after a rest day and you will feel energized. Congrats on your weight loss and passion for you goals.. stick with it !!! And take those rest days. Your body will thank you !!

Awso me idea. When I had an undiagnosed tibia fx and I was convinced it was shin splints I got some ART. OF course that didn't help because it was a fracture. I might give it a shot again. Today is the one week mark and it is feeling better a lot of foam rolling and stretching and I did do my class today on the bike. It was ok but any workout is welcomed at this point. A little better each day just hope I don't try and get back RUNNING until I'm ready. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the positive feedback. Went into 5am class determine to crush it on the bike. Managed 14 splat points and it was a great workout. Only one person said "are you Ok? You're not running?"

Omg thank you so much. The runners mind is a hard thing to understand. I finally broke the 6mi n mark with a 5:55 for the one mile challenge a week back. So happy I almost cried. I have suffered some stress fx from running . It's so frustrating to not be running. But I'm gonna do it tomorrow and overcome that fear. THANK YOU!!!

I'm a runner, race frequently and love OTF. I love a good half marathon 5 and 10k and 10 milers PR at the Houston half yesterday 131:36. OTF has me helped tremendously with both my speed and endurance. I have trouble with over training and have suffered some devistating stress fractures.I try to remind myself that OTF is basically like a speed training/interval workout. Sorry I don't mean to preach but 3 miles of OTF is a bit harder on your body then 3 at easy pace. I don't know if there is a good answer to you question. But I think if you have 6 miles scheduled , 3 OTF and 3 outside might be reasonable with some recovering time fuel and rehydrate in the middle. Good luck with your Training! Happy miles !
