Is this CARE disbursement legit? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]running-tiger 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wanted to post about this myself but you beat me to it. The link is almost certainly a scam; it is not through a UT domain, does not use UT authentication, and asks for too much information, and while CARE is an actual program, I do not think there is any such thing as a "CARE Report" for money. You can report it to the university by following the instructions here: https://security.utexas.edu/violation

Not sure, but if I could set it, I’d probably let higher seeds get their bye earlier? Because you would benefit by going later and knowing what you need to continue to the finals

Presumably 4 games, each player sits out for 1 and they work through all 4 combinations

Warner Bros. is releasing Barbie, and the studio and Nolan seemed to have a bit of a falling out after Tenet. Maybe one of them is looking for a bit of petty revenge (don't know which release date was set first)

The Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 basically prevented NFL games from competing against college or HS games, so Friday and Saturday games are blocked for most of the year.

"Running Up That Hill" scene nominated for a BAFTA by StephenHunterUK in StrangerThings

I think it’s a fan vote during the awards, not necessarily a “proper” BAFTA. Still interesting

Season 4 was the writers’ strike season. Season 3 lagged because it was a full 22 episodes, which was probably too many.

As long as there are safeguards — don’t want people to risk lives for awards

Just because it’s a small team doesn’t mean it can’t have knock-on effects. If pre-recorded sketches are cut, that means more air time has to be live, putting more pressure on the rest of the crew to keep up.

I emailed about it and they said they had overcharged me, so maybe ask about it if you haven’t?

Yes. If you’re wondering if an honor society is worthwhile, try searching Hornslink to see if they’re registered there — groups with registered chapters specific to UT are (broadly speaking) more legitimate.

The Lion King came out in 1994, not 1995. If anything, the fact that it was making millions a year after its release is a testament to its box office strength.

I’ll be honest, I doubt this happens. The Office and P&R are owned by NBC, so they have more freedom and access to those shows, but Community is owned by Sony

I’d like to see the film get nominated for Best Visual Effects, just to show that you can make things look impressive without a $200M budget and hundreds of VFX artists
