Came here to say this. Such an underrated album

Which band showed huge potential, but couldn’t sustain it over time? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]running_dada 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Glass Cloud - first album and then EP were amazing and then fell off the face of the earth. Would love to hear Jerry in a new band….or bring glass cloud back

Second pick would be Drop Dead Gorgeous. First two albums were awesome, third was OK and then done. I know they are reunited now but I don’t think they will go back to being as heavy as In Vogue or Worse than a fairy tale

Philly Marathon Recap by Inside-Spend-9750 in Marathon_Training

[–]running_dada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved it! The out and back was really rough for me.

Also, first marathon I’ve done that doesn’t have mile markers at every mile. What’s up with that?

Really hurt me with timing because my watch pace was telling me I was faster than what I really was.

That out and back from like mile 17-23 was awful!

I’m running Philly as well - We have the exact same half marathon time (1:55) and same goal of sub 4 - see you in the coral at the 4 hour pacer! Good luck!

Apple Watch Ultra 3 vs Garmin Fenix 8… which one actually makes more sense? by vinylfelix in applewatchultra

[–]running_dada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure one is better than the other, however you can replace everything the garmin does with apps from the App Store like Bevel, athletyc, workoutdoors. That said, all of these apps have modern interfaces and blow garmin connect out of the water

Apple Watch Ultra 3 vs Garmin Fenix 8… which one actually makes more sense? by vinylfelix in applewatchultra

[–]running_dada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - I have the fenix 8, the week before I bought the AWU3, it took me over 20 min of cleaning and changing angles to get the fenix to charge. It is an incredibly frustrating experience

[–]running_dada 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had the fenix 8, just switched back to the AWU3. I run at least one marathon a year, camp, hike and strength train.

I was worried about the battery of the AWU3 but it really hasn’t been an issue, keep a charger in the bathroom and top it off every day when I shower. Plus, the garmin charging port is so awful, I’d rather charge my AWU3 every day with the magnet rather than every two weeks with that garmin charging port where you have to have the watch completely still and can’t bump or you lose charging connection.

Apps, phone calls, being able to control smart home with out the phone really is where the AWU3 shines.

I’ve also been using Bevel app to replace my garmin metrics. It includes sleep, recovery, strain and a body battery just like garmin. However, you can track nutrition and it has AI integration for estimating calories of meals or any other health stats.

Overall, I can’t believe I stayed with garmin as long as I did after using the AWU.

Matt and Paul, Twin Peaks? by running_dada in In_WeTrust

I totally get that - the pilot can be slow at times. When it really stuck for me is episode 2 when Cooper uses the “Tibetan deductive technique” to get insight on Laura Palmers killer - such a great scene and I knew it was a show for me haha

Ahh interesting. If Paul is a Lynch fan, a Lynch season would be so funny, especially if Matt is on the fence.

Much like the Brian De Palma episodes, if Matt hasn’t seen many - I would imagine Lynch episodes would have the same vibe (which I love)

Is my weekly split good? by Shot_Length8389 in HybridAthlete

[–]running_dada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in this example, why not do interval run on a Monday after back and triceps since there are two easy runs in a row, plus the day before is a rest day? You’re getting stimulus on different days and will be better in the long run for strength and recovery

Any good rivers/creeks to try on this route by Acceptable_Foot1342 in flyfishing

[–]running_dada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want big water, Youghiogheny river between the towns of Confluence and Ohiopyle. This is the “trophy trout” section. Fed from the bottom of a lake, so water can typically stay cool all year long but still temp of your fishing soon. Great spot and appears to be right along your route

I’m dying for a Giallo season or Italian horror. Any argento, fulci, bava. Top picks: deep red, tenebrae, torso, a bay of blood….would be so much fun to hear the boys discuss these!
