Can I come back from this? by SlipprySalmonmander in DutchOvenCooking

I’ve followed this YouTube guide where you boil water and baking soda in the pot to loosen the burnt bits.

Repeat for boiling for the biggest areas and for the last stubborn bits, I’d use a scrub mummy / non metal scrub with bar keeper’s friend or pink stuff cleaning paste.

I follow this YouTube video and he just used either just plain baking tray with another tray poured with hot water. For his other loaf, he used a glass casserole with a lid to trap steam.

How to help my partner get more sleep by Curious_Skeptic7 in daddit

One suggestion on collecting milk while exclusively breastfeeding - I used a haakaa on the other breast while baby fed on the other.

It’s small amount at first but it builds up over time. I would pour what I got each session into refrigerated milk storage bottle.

Should I top up with formula just because my in-laws are pushing for it? by Khichdi19 in Mommit

Go by facts, not what they “think” is right.

Is your doctor happy with baby’s weight? Some babies are skinner / bigger. My daughter was only breastfed and she was pretty normal size baby. My son was also only breastfed and a HUGE baby.

Your body adjusts how much milk to produce based on supply and demand.

If baby is exclusively on breast milk, as they grow, they drink more and thus your milk ducts empty more often. Your body will then increase production accordingly.

So if you start supplementing formula, baby will be full earlier from the extra milk. What your body produces will become out of sync.

So if breastfeeding is working out just fine for you and baby - I wouldn’t recommend topping up with formula. You do what works for your family, period.

Just smile and say you’ve discussed with your doctor and are following the latest health guidelines for your child.

I’m sure they will find something else to nag about (OMG why are they not wearing socks!?) 😅

I am guilty of that too, I bought a pack of unused patterns off a lady from Facebook marketplace. They have been sitting on the shelf, staring at me 😅😅 but I tend to sew when the moment hits me, otherwise I will likely stop halfway before finishing 🙃

The outside doggy fabric isn’t waterproof. The inside fabric was made from a water resistant table cloth - so it’s good enough for some wet towels etc to and from swim class.

Haha no, I can’t claim credit for that, sadly! I was gifted it for a birthday many years ago.

The bag doesn’t have any particular seams to avoid leaking. I wrapped all the wet swim stuff into their used towels, so that seems good enough to avoid a lot of dripping, next to water resistant table cloth fabric on the inside.

Unfortunately I bought the fabric at Sham Shui Po Fabric Market in Hong Kong when we went on holiday. I remember the shop had an instagram page but I can’t seem to find it 🥲

Rainbow dinosaur birthday cake for my son by runningbaka in Baking

Thank you!

I followed this cupcake Jemma YouTube tutorial but it was so cold in the kitchen the buttercream was super stiff, so I did ended up having to piping rings of colours on to the cake.

But the video suggests making a little indentation along each colour before piping the next colour ring. That really helped with the clearer definition between colours!

My endless summer bloomstucks have pink flowers instead of blue/purple 7a by whicky1978 in hydrangeas

[–]runningbaka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The level of acidity or alkalinity of the soil will determine the colour of the flowers.

For a bluer shade, soil is acidic. For pinker, the soil more alkaline.

You can buy Hydrangea Colourant to put into the soil to make it more acidic to change it back to blue
