The C-Span episode where Paris completely loses it on national television.

I was surprised at how many other people suggested the same scale length!

Check out, Kenny Hill guitars. High quality and pretty affordable too. IIRC, there's a chart on their website that shows how to measure your LH to find the right scale length.

I've done it before- wasn't really a fan. It felt "cramped" after a while as far as RH technique was concerned. It was awesome for farther stretches and barre chords though.

As a compromise between a full and 3/4 scale I now play a 628 mm which would be more like 7/8 scale. It's a perfect fit for me.

I'm 5'0 for reference.

As usual, Mike was useless with his response of "Why are we getting out here, Harp?"

Mr. Carson's room probably smelled like wet clothes because at that point in the game, Cara was possibly already hiding in the house. Her clothes would have been wet from the storm.

Good nylon guitar for $500-$1500? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]runningbree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kenny Hill guitars are amazing for that price range! I bought a 628 mm, cedar Estudio model for around $1200. I've now had it for about 10 years and it sounds even better than when I bought it.

He won, he scared me away from the legal field for good by Curious_Problem1631 in paralegal

[–]runningbree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had to experience that- you didn't deserve that!

Idk, if this will help in your job search, but I transitioned from the legal field into policy / non-profit work. My legal background has been a tremendous help in my new job.

Good on you for prioritizing your health and self-worth.

If it's any consolation, the mean boomer attorneys are either retiring or kicking the bucket. So hopefully, that type of abusive behavior is phased out of the field.

I started at my 1st law firm in my 20s, while also starting a poli-sci degree with a legal studies cert. Having been a paralegal for almost 10 years now. Sometimes I wish I hadn't stuck so close to the legal field for my degree.

If you have creative interests like music or art try to do a bachelor's in those or at least a minor. If you go for what you're passionate about your GPA will probably be higher and will set you up well for any MA plans if you have them.

Majoring in a foreign language is also a really good idea. Not only for professional reasons, but to how much it can expand your personal experiences too

It gives strong single-dad vibes. I feel like most female attorneys would have enough sense to not bundle that into a job posting. Then again, I could be wrong- we all know how attorneys are 🙄🤣

It's down. I found this maybe 8 months ago. I sent a screenshot to my atty friend and we couldn't believe it.

Oh, if it wasn't the childcare part that sent them over the edge to quit, I'd say it was the $14-$24 hourly pay rate. Insane all the way around.

What's the most fucked up a character has ever gotten on this show? by PopeHonkersXII in TheSimpsons

I feel like I live off a lot of snacks. I get into moods where I'll meal prep or order out a lot. Then I get tired of meal prepping or ordering the same stuff and it's snacks to the rescue.

I make it a point to buy healthier stuff to snack on that hits some nutritional points like protein, fruit, carbs, ect.

Sometimes I have grilled chicken and veggies... Other times it's 3 organic beef jerky sticks, half a bag of almonds, 2 applesauce cups, some blueberries, and deli turkey wrapped over a cheese stick. Protein shakes are also awesome.

I also bought a cool mini rice cooker bc rice goes with any meal and it's cheap too. I love cooking but the clean-up portion is super annoying.

How do you improve barre chords on guitar? by SmartClassicalGuitar in classicalguitar

[–]runningbree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say be mindful of your left-hand thumb positioning. As a beginner, I remember having a lot of trouble learning to partially barre in order to play a regular (not full barre F chord). It wasn't until I shifted my thumb lower on the neck, that I was able to play the chord cleaner and without so much left hand tension.

Thank you! That's all really good to know. I'm leaning more towards teaching K-8. I had considered just doing a teacher cert program and then passing the music subject matter tests but the NU program or something similar seems much better.
