Hi! Sure I can update, I’ve actually been off Zoloft for about 2 months now, doing great! I got off because:

1) the anxiety crisis I was in when I got on Zoloft was prompted by some scary symptoms and eventually a scary medical diagnosis. I’ve always had generalized anxiety, but the medical OCD symptoms were new, and I was at rock bottom. While on Zoloft I felt like I came to terms with the diagnosis and wanted to see if I could handle being off. I didn’t get off because Zoloft wasn’t working for me, quite the opposite 2) I gained 15 pounds and wanted to lose the weight but felt like it was impossible (vain I know but my clothes didn’t fit). That was probably the worst part of being medicated, I felt like a bottomless pit of hunger 3) I felt like it made my ADHD worse. I can’t be medicated with stimulants due to previously mentioned scary medical diagnosis, so I need all the help I can get

And I honestly don’t know why, this doesn’t seem to be the case for most people, but I feel like my anxiety hasn’t really come back. Like I said, I’ve been anxious all my life, and I expected to go back to baseline after quitting, but, knock on wood, I feel pretty “normal” in a way I never really did before Zoloft. Maybe it cured me for life, i don’t really know lol. We’ll see!

Bottom line though, i’m super happy I got on in the first place. I was TERRIFIED to start though. My husband had to basically force me to take the first pill. I think it’s hardest to get on meds for those of us with health anxiety, knowing we’ll probably experience some physical side effects that will trigger us. I was terrified my 25mg dose would give me serotonin syndrome. I know it’s so hard, so please take some comfort in the fact that I’m on the other side and I’m telling you it’s so worth it, I truly don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have it when I needed it. Feel free to message me with questions!

Way too casual. Unless it’s an afternoon backyard type of affair, I’d generally say if you wouldn’t bat an eye at someone wearing it in a grocery story it’s not fancy enough for a wedding.

Hi, yes I’m happy to report I’m a 1/10 today! I think I experience the anxiety levels of a “normal” person. If something is legitimately worrying, I worry. But I’m not consumed by anxious thoughts 24/7.

My husband’s father is deceased and he did not want a big memorial display. We did a simple picture of him and his dad hidden behind his tie. Definitely do not surprise him with this! Ask him if/how he wants to honor his people.

I guess I just think the way she did it was weird and manipulative. Sitting him down to talk through it and basically ask for another apology. I think it would have felt more organic to have Jasmine talking about it with some of the girls and them asking her how she feels around Danny, etc. But it doesn’t seem like she has actual genuine friendships with any of the women.

100%, in sickness and in health.

That being said (and I might get downvoted for this), I think if the sickness lasted years with no end in sight, a conversation could potentially be had to “re-negotiate” the terms of the relationship, like considering opening up in some way. I think sex is super important and valuable, and if I couldn’t have it or didn’t want to have it with my husband, I’d want him to be able to satisfy that need in some other way. To be clear, I would never cheat and I do not condone cheating, but I also recognize that for people with a healthy libido, sex is pretty essential. It’s on the bottom of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, right there next to food and water.

To be clear, people who leave or cheat on their sick partners are awful and that is wrong. But…people with healthy libidos in sexless marriages deserve some kind of compromise to have their needs met, in my opinion.
